Park tickets

Hello! Where do people tend to get their Disney Tickets from? Do you get them at the gate or order them online first? (if so, where do you order yours from?)

I'm looking into information for friends who want to come to Disney with us for 4 days of their trip, which falls just short of the 5 day premium ticket on the website we used to book our tickets through, so now I'm looking at other options. I've found those 4 day Magic your way tickets, but I don't know which websites are trustable (and not all deliver to the UK). Also, can you still stay in a Disney hotel if you are just using tickets not booked through them?

So many questions! Any advice would be good thanks Smile

OH OH ALSO, if you are staying in Disney hotel but just have the magic your way base tickets, can you still use extra magic hours and disney transportation?

Peg. On your second question you definitely can still use transportation and EMH with whatever tickets as long as you're staying on property (Unless I'm misunderstanding the question).

Does anyone know if you can get your tickets on your room key if you don't buy them together?

We've used www.themeparkticketsdirect.com and www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk without any problems. We've had the actual tickets in our hand well before leaving the UK with both of them. You can't put your park tickets on your room key though.

I could be wrong but I think as long as you buy them from Disney you can. We didn't have a package so we bought ours before we went and they combined them on there once we got there. I've never bought from anyone else so I can't be sure about all that.

Yep -- in order to get them on your room key, you have to have purchased a package. If you get hotel and tickets separately, the tix won't be on your room key.

Tony's advice will be best for tickets, Peg, since you're both purchasing in the UK, but you can also always order them from the Disney website -- no scams there.

it's just that my friends just want 4 days (not me and my boyfriend though, we've got the 14 day pass, heh), and so far I can only seem to find passes for 5 days and up on the uk sites?!

Why do you need the tickets on your room key? Is it for fast passes or something?

OH I have another question! Sorry!

Can you stay at a disney hotel for as long as you like, even if you only have park tickets for a few days?

As long as you pay the room rate and they have the space available yes. Park tickets are not part of the criteria for staying at a Disney resort. In other words your length of stay in a resort does not have to match the length of your park passes.

When we've had park tickets separate from room key we've had to show both cards to get EMH wrist bands (do they still use them or did I hear the system had changed?). It's never really been a problem as we carry other cards (credit/debit etc.) anyway so one more makes no difference.

It's just easier...you have one card instead of two. If you don't care about having two cards it's not biggie.

If you get a season pass you have to use two cards because they can't put that on your room key. Its no biggie really.

You bet you can, just ask Joe. He's been going forever and he hasn't bought a park ticket in decades.

Are your friends based in the US and members of AAA (American Automobile Association)? If so, AAA also sells tickets, and I think they are a tiny bit discounted. When I got them for a trip about 3 years ago, the tickets were put on a plastic card. This is noteworthy, because the tickets I bought while I was at Disney last year (for my sister & niece ... trip later this year) are on paper - which makes me nervous for some reason.

I usually buy no-expiration park hoppers and spread them out over several trips, and having an "expired" room key that still has valid tickets causes some confusion for me. Now I just make a point of stopping by the customer service station at Downtown Disney on arrival day to help me sort it all out.

No, we're all English! They'll just be there for a week.
