POP Century Legendary Years construction

Just saw this great article on Jim Hill Media--a bunch of new info:

POP Century construction and other stuff

Unfortunately, Disney seems to be seeing the crowds returning... both good and bad news I guess... silly

That's a really interesting article. I wonder how the 30,000 visitors compares to a normal year?

I think it kind of buried the lead though:

If people are GOING due to the buy 4 get 3 free, but not spending as much, are they really that much better off? They gave a large discount to get people in the park, but then they're not really spending as much there. Interesting...

On top of the "not spending as much," isn't Disney giving a $200 gift card to everyone on the 4 and 3 deal? That's probably denting the overall income levels as well, right?

Also (and, luckily on topic), are they saying that the legendary years will be ALL suites? Will they still be themed after the legendary years? I've been looking forward to seeing how they theme the "10s"

That would be a bummer if you couldn't get just a normal single room there. I guess that's kind of like saying that some of the Treehouse villas should be singles. But I still want to see them without paying for a suite!

You'll probably need a good sized party to make them affordable.

Do we have an idea of what pricing is like for those?

I don't know about actual pricing, but the DVC rates have been released and they are pretty much the same as a two bedroom at SSR, which would be around 245 points for a week during Adventure (value) Season.

So you could try pricing out a two bedroom at SSR for now, it might give you a rough idea of what it would cost to rent at the Treehouse Villas.

We are hoping to book a trip with the parents for 2010!

Bay Lake, Animal Knigdom Lodge Villas and Tree houses all seem really cool to me.

Quick note on this from what I've seen on it only what was the Legendary years will be suites, the original POP will still be single rooms (The INN part of animation suites and Inn)
Now: How do I get that giant Big wheel for my yard?
I Wonder if it will be on Mouse Surplus? (JK)

Anyway, I will be glad to see something done with it. The first time I stayed at POP I saw construction across the lake and was excited. Last Year I just saw an Abandoned lot, What A Downer.

I agree. When I stayed at POP a while back, the legendary years buildings were overgrown heaps of brown ugliness (yes. that's right.). It really put a damper on the view across the lake.

I'm looking forward to anything bright and fun--no matter how many people each room sleeps!

Also--"Animation Suites and Inn?" Was that what it was originally being called?
