Question about Disney Bus

Hey all! My husband and I were originally planning to visit and stay at AoA in December (since it will be brand new!) After reading on the forums about Pop and how wonderful it is, and even has it's separate bus, we started to sway or decision. Then I read AoA and Pop may be sharing the bus once AoA is open. Anyone hear this or know how accurate it is?

Also, how reliable is the bus? How long does it usually take to get from Pop to MK? We're going 12/15-12/21 so I'm sure it will be busy. Was there ever a time you couldn't get on a bus? How often do they run? What about Magic hours- do the buses keep running?

Sorry for all the questions! It's been FOREVER since we were at Disney (and we were kids!) so we're not too sure about all this!

Thanks for the input!

I haven't heard about AOA and Pop sharing buses, but that would make sense.

As far as the buses to/from Pop now, we had a great experience with them. The longest time we had to wait for a bus at Pop was about 10 minutes. The trip to all the parks is about 10 minutes or so with the exception of Magic Kingdom. Its about a 15-20 minute ride.

And yes, the buses run for about an hour to an hour and a half after the parks close, even with EMH. But you can wait for a while for buses at park closing. Just depends on how many people there are waiting. And Pop is the furthest bus stop from the park entrance =(

But yea, it is nice having Pop as the only bus stop... but I'm sure if they add AOA it wont be too horrible!

i know for a fact that the buses run during the xtra magic hours, the other ?'s i am not possitive about, the time that they run varies depending on how busy it is i think they run every 20 min on a regular basis. the only time i could not get on the bus was a couple of years ago in December and the parks were really busy and i was staying at ssr which has like 6 bus stops internally.

not really that helpful sorry

I love Pop. Except for one time the longest I had to wait for a bus was 20 minutes and that's because we just missed the bus. Even in the mornings if we couldn't get on a bus, another wasn't far behind. The longest wait was about 45 minutes after MK closed. The buses were coming 2 at a time so it really didn't seem that long.

When I first learned about AoA opening I wondered if it would share a bus with Pop. I read recently (can't remember where I read it) that they will not be sharing a bus.

The buses run up to an hour after the park closes. They start running an hour before the earliest breakfast ADR. You can't get in to the park if you don't have an ADR. It is pretty cool to be in a park before it opens.

The bus system at Disney is great. It really is. I don't know the times for Pop or AoA just simple because I've never stayed there. My home resort is Animal Kingdom. The longest we ever had to wait for a bus was 20 minutes and that was for DTD.... just because its one of the farthest things away besides Magic Kingdom, but Magic Kingdom has many more bus's running because... well... kids need their princesses and characters!

As for getting on a bus. There may be times where a lot of people are either going to or from a park and you may have to wait. I do find this to happen more at night, and when its at night its usually during two parts... right before the park is about to close and people don't want to see the fireworks, and right after the fireworks. So if your truly wanting to miss it completely... I would advise leaving 30 minutes prior to the fireworks going off, and that could be iffy too... lol. There is just no easy way of doing it.... but 30 minutes could be good enough.

Bus's run 2 hours AFTER a park closes, and he ferry and boats run an hour after? I think a hour after for the boats. So you will be more than fine after Magic Hours.

I love the Disney buses. So easy to use and entertaining at the same time. Sometimes drivers will say something like "everyone been on your best behavior today we have a princess/pirate riding with us." It makes the kids feel really special. I have learned a lot about the resort too by riding the bus and talking to other families that are riding. It gives a neat community feeling.

I wouldn't think that they'd share buses initially. The AoA resort is going to hold upwards of 4,000 people. Bus service Is very reliable. I'll be there 12/13-15 and then the 22-27/12 I hope you have a wonderful time awesome

I can't bee too helpful because I've never been on the Disney buses, but I did read from the Disney Mom's Panel that Pop and AOA will not be sharing buses!

That's one of the great things about the bus....getting to talk to other people who are enjoying Disney just like you
