Resort Regrets..

Good Day People...Well last night I watched our 2012 DVD of our WDW vacation..Ah the memories..Especially the new renovated rooms at PORS...As I filmed going over the bridge at the big wheel, and entering the food court at 6.45 am..I swear I could smell the cookies getting made..Not a living soul in sight, apart from the servers..Good morning with a big smile. biggrin .Now to my question..I'am sure the lucky ones here who have been countless of times to WDW have their favourite resorts, and maybe they have one which is close to their heart..Have you ever decided to try a new resort and wished you had booked your number one favourite.?..On our five trips it has been once at CBR..Once at POFQ..And three times at PORS...I was intending to book AKL for 2015 as the price was very reasonable for oct 2014 ( oct 2015 not avail yet ) But it has jumped up by $1000 since two months ago.. eek ...But my beloved PORS is still the same price...Then I started to think, will I miss all the things I love about Riverside.?..So have you ever regretted switching to another resort.?

I know Pop Century has become one of my favorite resorts but I never regret staying at other places because it is my goal to stay in all of the Disney resorts even Swan and Dolphin.

Yes!!! We stayed at All-Stars Music one year when they had the fairytale pkg.
We missed Dixie Landings, as it was called then, soo much!!
It was just too loud for our tastes. The walls were paper-thin. We could hear
our neighbors' conversations!
Never again! Cute resort but not for us.

Yes just this past October. I love Port Orleans French Quarters and Port Orleans Riverside but this past October I was going with another couple and I didn't want to seem bosey so I let them pick. They picked Coronado Springs yuck all I can say is what a mistake and I will never, ever stay at that resort again.

Money talked on my last trip when I chose AS Sports over Pop Century. I couldn't turn down the room discount they offered but something was just not there. I mean, I knew the resort inside out but the wow factor was not there in that resort. I think the deluxes have more of that than the other resorts, which is why I have AKL topping my bucket list!

Luckily I haven't had this happen yet. We always stay at Value resorts and I find them all pretty much the same (especially the AS) so I haven't felt like I missed anything. Hopefully the trend continues awesome

I have stayed only at 2 resorts - POR and POFQ. Between the two I liked FQ better because it is smaller and quieter but I liked the meals better at Riverside.

For the most part, as long as I'm at one of the deluxe resorts I'm happy. I was a little bit disappointed at Wilderness Lodge Villas, but that was all transportation related (parking and buses) overall it was still a fantastic experience.

When I stayed at POR earlier this year in Oct, I definitely wished I was at POFQ. Nothing wrong with POR, but I just love the quaintness of POFQ. I'm fearful that after staying at POR, then AKL in Nov, Pop may be a disappointment in Feb. But I'm openminded and tie dye cheesecake could push me to be a Pop lover!

That's the good thing about so many choices..I loved POFQ, but I fell head over heels at PORS..These mansion buildings had me thinking I was Rhett Butler..LOL..
