Roy Disney Suite

You regulars will notice that I've gone hog wild with the pictures today, mainly because I finally broke down and started organizing my photos.

I found these which I thought you might enjoy seeing. On our last cruise, we met up with a lot of folks on DISBoards who were sailing on our cruise. A group of them had the Roy Disney Suite on the cruise and they threw a little party for the DIS group.

I have NO idea what it costs to rent this suite, but it has two bedrooms and is unbelievable. I've long been a fan of Jaguar autos and the walls in this suite resemble the fine wood that you find on the dashes of these and other cars like them.


Fellow in the yellow shirt was the guy who had the suite. He's from LA.

Amazing. Are those "chochkes" from Roy's personal collection?

I think I would just go around touching the walls the whole time...

I don't know that ANYTHING in there is authentic, but it sure was neat!

That was the first one I'd ever done, and I was really glad.

We had a meet scheduled on sailing day, but our flight was 3 hours late and we missed the initial get together.

This MORE than made up for it though!!!

And is it a group that all knew each other, or was it just one of those "having a party--come if you can!" kind of things?

On DISBoards there is usually a thread for each sailing date. We all communicated for many months before sailing and a couple of months before sailing they set up an RSVP system for the party.

So, I'm not sure if others may have known some of the others in the group, but I suspect most just met during the intense 'pre sail posting'.

I think they had about 50 people who eventually RSVP'ed that they were coming.

I have a client booked in the one bedroom suite next Oct 2010 and there are 2 adults and it was around $2500 for the 3 night sailing with no transfers and no insurance.

Those lifeboats actually sleep rather comfortably if you bring a nice pillow...
