runDisney Roll Call

Are you signed up for a runDisney event?

I thought I'd start a thread keeping track of which Grown Ups are running/walking so that we can keep each other motivated and maybe even working towards our training goals! Are you up to the challenge?

Let us know which runDisney event you're participating in and what distance you're going. I'll keep a running list of them!

I'm a definite for the Tower of Terror 10-Miler!! Planning on the Wine and Dine 1/2 in November and rounding it out with the Princess 1/2 in February!! Woohoo!!

I have a few non Disney races as well - Nike Women's Half Marathon (you get a Tiffany necklace instead of a medal!) in April and the Tough Mudder in June - but the Disney races are my total motivation right now!! Good luck to all you runners and walkers!

I'll be doing either the TOT 10 Miler or the W&D half. Haven't quite decided but I'm leaning towards the W&D mickey

Join me in the insanity and do them both!! laugh I have to admit, I got a little excited and signed up for ToT without really thinking it through or I would have waited to sign up for JUST the W&D. Oh well, it'll keep me runnin' for another month!!

I will be signing up for the Tinkerbell Half next January! I've finished 5 weeks of training so far (first 5K in about a month!) and still going strong!

yay Whoo hoooo!! yay

Hoorah for everyone! I had a good strong walk at the Y today, but I'm having some foot trouble. I broke & dislocated my right little toe it last month. It feels fine with regular walking around, but every time I get on the treadmill I'm feeling it. I'm still taking it a bit easy with the walking work outs, but I think I may start taping my foot before.

The Princess 1/2 Marathon is this weekend and I can't wait to watch the updates from runners on Twitter & Facebook!

Looks like it's going to be the Wine and Dine Half for me! yay I like the course a lot better than the TOT one. Now if I could just get training.....

We were just talking about this on today's run. How we should be running 2-3x a week, but then life happens, and next thing you know, it's Saturday and the week is gone. The good news is, we've got PLENTY of time!!

I don't, but I have been thinking about it. My daughter noticed that the iPod Nanos has Nike+ software built into them these days. She might by one of those just for running. We've been discussing the need for new shoes and Nike+ has become a factor in our shopping. Right now I track everything on daily mile. My profile is HERE on that site.

I'm running the Princess Half in 2014. I can't wait until registration opens so I can just do it and not change my mind! I've been wanting to run it since i heard about it a few years ago. I've done a few 5Ks and will be doing a 10K in June in NY. But I can't wait for the Princess Half! I think anyone can do it. I am not an athlete by any means but its all about mind over matter! clapping yay muchlove

I also added Becks534 because even though she hasn't said anything on the forum. My daughter Tori is training to actually run the dern thing, Becks will help me bring up the back of the pack as Tori leaves me in the dust.

I got the RunDisney bug after my first half this January at the Marathon Weekend!

I'm signed up for Dumbo Double Dare over Labor Day - 19.3 miles

Tower of Terror - 10 miles

Wine and Dine - half and 5K - 16.2

I just saw on the DFB that the Wine and Dine Half Marathon registrations is open. I never paid much attention before now I'm excited about the races. I signed up to get an email notification when the Princess Half registration begins.

Everyone should run a Disney race at least once in their life!!!

I'm thisclose to registering for the Wine & Dine (thus all my annoying questions tonight!)...if I can manage renting some DVC points, I will probably do it. It will be our anniversary so it will be a grown up trip!

Planning on the Princess Half next February. Training for a local 10k right now. This running thing is all new to me. I use the Galloway apps and love them. I ran the 5k this past January, it was so exciting and fun that on the cruise we went on a few days later I ran the 5k on Castaway Cay too! The sports fair or whatever it is before with all the vendors was a huge eye opener as to what a big business fitness is right now. Fell in love with the Disney NB shoes but resisted. I think the training thread is a great idea too!
