A snowy Saturday in October

The forecasters are calling for 5-10 inches today. It started snowing around 1:00. Here are a couple of pictures from outside my living room.

Ok, I'll say it...ick!!!

It's quite pretty though. From a distance. A several-states-south-of-you kinda distance.

Maybe our 55 degrees in Charlotte today is really nothing to complain about at all....

Stay warm JoAnn! And think happy, 75-degrees-in-Orlando Disney thoughts!!!!

Snow this early in the year. Urgh. It even made the news over here as it's so early in the season.

Wow - that's interesting that it passed y'all by. So Ohio didn't get any?

We only got 8 inches here in northern nj but bc the trees had not shed leaves yet we are a mess. We haven't had heat or power in our county since Saturday and trees are down everywhere. Our schools were closed today and tomorrow and Halloween trick or treating was cancelled due to live wires and dangerous conditions. Only 8 inches which is totally normal in the winter for us and what a mess it made in the fall!

OK the reason I didn't post until now is because it started snowing on Sat. evening and shortly thereafter lost power and when we left NH Mon.to go to Boston to FLY OUT TO WDW we STILL had no power. Sun. I had to travel some 50 miles to my son's home to store my insulin so I would not loose it, (it has to be refrigerated). BUT I am at the World now so who cares. biggrin More to follow yay

We got a nasty cold rain/snow mix. Whole day was horribly cold and wet. Made me not want to leave the house at all, but I went to the gym anyway.

Yes you are correct this was originally scheduled to be a Vero Beach trip but we figured we would go nutso at VB for two whole weeks. VB is more of a weekend destination.

Yes we are having a ball, and things are going unbelievably. For instance we left NH as I said in the snow and dark.We got to Logan at 5:15 Am and my JetBlue flight was on time, we had to wait fo NO ONE and the flight left a few minutes early. We landed about 10 minutes early and when we went to get our Enterprise car rental, we had pre-leased a sub compact economy car as small as possible because there was only the wife and I and little luggage and it was much cheaper. When we got to the garage they apologized for not having too many sub compacts available and asked if we would would accept an upgrade to a full sized SUV, HELLOOOO! So we got a full sized Jeep Grand Cherokee, loaded, for the same price. Heck talk about an upgrade, Thank You Enterprise!! More to come later.

OOH - that's great! We had a Grand Cherokee and I loved it. Well...I didn't love putting brakes on it ever 17,000 miles...but it was pretty and comfortable Smile

Looking forward to hearing more! What's your favorite F&W offering so far?

HI everyone! I lost power Saturday night at 8:45 and just got it back today. I have been staying at a friend's house. I didn't get a chance to get online there. When I left work today, there are still 32% of the electric company's customers without power. There are still trees and powerlines down. I can't take my regular route to work because of road closures. It was ugly. My boss informed me this afternoon that she is not talking to anyone with power. LOL Only 5% of customers in her town have power.

Good grief! I'm so sorry for all of you. I know from FB that other friends just got power back after almost a week.

There are still over 200,000 customers without power. Their goal is to have 99% restored by Sunday 11:59pm. Schools have been canceled all week. One town just announce school is closed on Monday.

I was one of the lucky ones to have power back on Thursday. There are still people without power today. I talked to my boss earlier. Her power came on today and then was out again.
