Some Resort QS/CS Questions?

Anyone think it'd be a good idea to run to a nearby resort for a lunch? I'll be with my girlfriend on a fun romantic trip, and although we're kinda anticipating most days running back to our resort (AKL) during the afternoon to try to escape the heat and crowds. And I'm looking at the CS places in each of the parks. But what if we decided to go to a nearby resort for lunch instead of say...Pecos Bill or Cosmic Ray's in MK....go to Contempo in CR? Or Captain Cook's in Poly? Or if we're in DHS, head over to one of the Boardwalk resorts for lunch? Of course, I'm talking CS/QS for lunch...no TS. But whatcha guys think? Any of them worth heading over for?

Thanks!! awesome

There are some excellent places to go at all the resorts, but I guess it depends on what you feel like eating. My son is a big fan of the African Stew at the Mara in AKL. It's been a while since I've hit Pecos Bills, but I do seem to hit the food court area downstairs in The Land in EPCOT, or Backlot Express over in DHS. In the resorts, I've tried the Sassagoula (Spelling?) at Port Orleans ( French Quarter).

This made me laugh, after many years of staying at AKL I've discovered I'm not really a fan of African flavors. One trip we had a rough time getting to the hotel and I was cranky and all I wanted to do was grab a bite ot eat and go to bed. I had the stew, it really wasn't my thing and I had to go back to buy a pizza. Mara's Lunch/Dinner menu is just not my favorite.

I like the Contempo Cafe at CR a lot, they have cupcakes. Captain Cooks at the Poly has Dole Whip and I always think a stop at the Poly is a good thing. AJ from DFB has said some great things about the Grilled Cheese at Captain Cooks in the past. I haven't had counter service at the Epcot Resorts so I can't really speak to those.

Thanks guys. I was just thinking...ya know? Maybe some CS options at nearby resorts might be good! Also seeing I've only been in CBR in the past...it'd give us a cool and fun way to see some other resorts...ESPECIALLY deluxe ones like Poly and CR. And have a chance to even say we had an opportunity to ride the monorail. I know...simple thrills for a WDW newbie/rookie like us lol.

PS: Dole whip is def. gonna be a no-go for my gf. Good thing they have that orange one too...she'll LOVE that. I'll be sure to pineapple it up! awesome

Well if you're going to go through the trouble of taking the monorail for a pineapple, why not Lapu Lapu it up? yay
