Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic

Did anyone attend the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic last year? We are planning to go this year, perhaps both nights. (Depends on whether we want to be at the Eat to the Beat concerts one of those nights).

I heard about it too late to attend, but since we won't have our APs this year (and will thus miss F&W, yes, weep for me) I may check it out.

We had same problem last year. Our flights were already booked when they announced it. Nice option to avoid the WS crowds on Friday and Saturday night. Sorry to hear about no F&W. sad

I've had several people tell me they had the exact same problem. S&D apparently didn't think about how early most people make their F&W plans.

I'd love to hear some reviews of it.

A review of seminars and food/drink:

Hope this is true for 2011 as suggested:

While the Classic is small this year, Tony and the rest of the food and beverage team at Swan and Dolphin "want to do something that in 15 or 20 years we can all still enjoy." He said that we can expect the Classic to be expanded upon greatly in the next couple of years, and celebrity chefs Todd English, Bobby Flay, and Michael Mina have already been suggested as participants for next year.

Thanks for sharing! It would be so great if they could expand it. It would be REALLY great if they could do something that would be a celebration of all of Orlando, to coincide with F&W crowds.

What celeb chef would you most like to see coming for this event, or for F&W?

2011 info announced yesterday. I purchased 2 tickets for the Friday 10-7 "CAUSEWAY FOOD & WINE TASTING ONLY" @ $74 ea.........$35 for seminars seems a bit steep to me. Last year it was $50 total to do both.

They had some significant staff changes in Food & Beverage at Swan & Dolphin. I'll be interested to see how they do this year's classic.
