THOR: Ragnarok

Is anyone else excited to see this? I'm really looking forward to it, I love that Jeff Goldblum is in it, he's one of my favorites. Plus more Loki!! I'm always up for a Tom Hiddleston movie. The writing seems amusing, and I know that Hulk fans are thrilled that he's a big part of this one. I have been told however that I really need to see Spiderman before this comes out because it sort of ties things together.

There seems to be a good amount of humour in this...The Hulk-Thor partnership seems to work well.

Best line of the trailer:
"Yes!! I know him. He's a friend from work!"

My wife & I love movies, so much in fact I built a home theater (Indy themed) in an upstairs bonus room. We have a rating system when we see a trailer come out. If we look at each other & shake our heads up & down in agreement it's a "go to the local theater movie" (these are rare maybe 1 or 2/yr). If we both shrug our shoulders it's a "rent from Netflix movie" or a "wait 'til it comes on TV movie" if we both shake our heads from side to side (& make the buzzer sound from family feud) it's a "not even if someone puts a gun to my head movie"
Having said that this looks like a "wait 'til it comes on TV movie". Not that it looks bad, I'm just suffering from super hero fatigue at this point. I would really like Hollywood to put out movies that are original & unusual again, like Predator back in '87. Thirty years later we've had sequals & copycat films, but that first film was totally unexpected. The only film that I am really excited to see in the next yr is Blade runner 2049, now THAT is my cup of tea!

Last winter hubby and I saw Kong: Skull Island (which I abhorred, but that's neither here nor there) with my sister and her family. Sister, adult niece, and I agreed that Tom Hiddleston looked especially awesome in that movie (the film's only saving grace IMO). Hubby asked what other movies we'd seen him in and was really surprised when I told him that's the guy who plays Loki.

Well, did you? IMO you don't really absolutely need to see Spider-Man: Homecoming first, but it's awesome so if you haven't already, go see it just for that reason. Seriously. It's awesome.

That will never happen for me. I was a ginormous comic book geek back in the day; although I don't read them anymore, the movies keep me connected with the kid/young adult I used to be.

I want the two hours of my time back for watching that movie. The ONLY high point was being able to look at Tom, and there was so not enough. I'm looking forward to the second season of The Night Manager.

Have not yet. Things have been rather crazy around here lately.
