A Trip Down Memory Lane

OK, I don't know if I should have posted this in the Trip Report forum, or somewhere else other than here. But what the heck...

As some of you know, I do a lot of video editing of our trips to Disney (and elsewhere), simply because I find it more enjoyable to look at those videos after it has been compile into a coherent "music video". I started this "hobby" way back in 2003, and I hope that I've gained more skills and the videos look less amateurish than when I started.

So at the risk of revealing how awful I was when I started, I'm showing you one of the first videos that I edited from way back in 2003. It also has a bit of a nostagic factor if you look closely, especially at the end because it shows parts of Spaceship Earth ride that are no longer around. So try not to giggle too much at my bad video editing skills! Smile

I thought it was quite good for a first effort. And I'm sure I'm not the only one around here who's ALWAYS ready and willing to watch WDW park video.

Good job. Please tell me I wasn't the only one looking for stoopid shoes in some of the shots. laugh

Thanks everyone.

Since I didn't embarrass myself too terribly with the bad video editing, here's another one from that same 2003 trip.

Another trip down memory lane. This is the long-gone Stars and Motor Cars on Parade at the old Disney/MGM Studios.

The only thing annoying about this video is that there was a kid screaming her head off at some point. I knew that would get into the video soundtrack when that happened, but what can I do? I would be arrested and thrown out of the parks if I did anything to stop it. Smile

Since I'm compiling old video that I made in this thread, might as well include this. I believe I've posted this elsewhere in the forum, but here is a compilation of old footage of the WDW monorail. You can tell that this is old because (i) you still don't see the BLT at the Contemporary, and (ii) they still allow guests in the front car (I truly wish they allow that again).

I edited this in 2006. So the footage was taken between 2004 and 2006.

It's one of my most favorite video that I've produced. My skill in editing improved just a bit since I first started, and the music that I picked can't be fit in any better.

Oct. 1st, 2007. Epcot's 25th Anniversary.

It was one of the most memorable moments of my life where I got to spend 2 full days with a group of Epcot fans as part of the Celebration 25 fan group to commemorate this anniversary. I love Epcot back then. It because my most favorite Disney theme park after that day. I was never the same again, and I have never had that moment and that feeling since.

Thank you.

The music is Camille Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3 (Organ), 4th movement. I butchered it up a bit to match the video. A piece of this music was included in "Impression of France" track in the Happiest Anniversary Celebration CD. I try to use music that either has a direct lyrical connection to the video I'm editing, or it has association to the subject matter. Since this music was used for a pavilion in World Showcase, I thought using it for Epcot's anniversary video was appropriate.

This is definitely a blast from the past from 2005. This was the very first pin celebration event that we attended. It was at this event that we officially became serious pin traders and collectors, which meant that we got on the slippery slope and have been sliding downhill ever since! Smile

So we blame it on this terrific event. We had such a blast!

Re-dedication ceremony for the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland. It was the most emotional part of the whole celebration.
