So this may have been discussed on here before..... but I am trying to decide if we can fit a trip in, in Jan 2014. Due to my school schedule, it's looking like the only time we can go is during my winter break which starts Dec 16 2013-Jan 12 2014. We don't want to go Dec 16-22 because that is too close to the Christmas rush and we don't want to deal with the crowds, plus I want the discount. We were thinking about Jan 3-11. I just realized that the Marathon weekend is Jan 8-12. So..... Just wondering what the crowd levels are like for that weekend? How are the parks, are they super busy and do they have sections closed off for the Marathon? I am not familiar with this time of year because we usually go during the last week of Nov or the first 2 weeks of Dec. Any suggestions or advice about this time of year would be greatly appreciated. 
I am on the fence now about going during that week because of the marathon. If we don't go that week, we may not get to go at all because of my schedule. 
The only other thought I had was to shorten our trip, but I don't want to do that either.
