TV Show DVDs Rule

So I've been watching "The Office" on DVD recently. I'd never watched it before and it's great, but it got me thinking. I almost NEVER watch shows live anymore. I don't even Tivo them. I just wait until the season is over and buy the DVD so I can watch them all at once, or at least when I want. Am I the only one who does this?

I don't have HBO, so I've done that with several of the HBO shows I like.

Speaking of HBO is that new "TrueBlood" show any good? I loved Six Feet Under and it's by the same guy I think?

I've been staying in a hotel and they show TrueBlood 24/7, but it didn't really catch my attention.

I haven't watched a live TV show in I don't know how long. I have this great feature on my DVR where I can search for my favorite shows ahead of time and schedule it to tape the ones I want to see. No need for anything else really!

I wonder how this impacts ratings, though...do they count the people who don't watch at the time, but who tape and watch later?

Another quick thought, I've been watching some shows on the internet, too. Lots are made available for free for a few weeks after their original air date. They must capture that data somehow, too.

I actually think Internet advertising is becoming more valuable than TV advertising. When I TiVo a show off the TV, I skip the commercials. When I watch an episode on the web, I tend to watch the commercials, cause they're short and more difficult to avoid.
