Two Grownups and a Baby

Okay, so I know this is wdw for grownups, but we can't help it. Our two year old demands that we take her along. We used to go on our own and were big fans. We wanted to take a vacation and couldn't think of a better place to go. We figure if we don't go now we'll have to wait even longer if another one comes along. We're also thrilled to see what our daughter thinks about it. She talks about it all the time...

Here's my question. Anyone have suggestions on transportation while there as well as the trip from the airport? We want her to be safe but we love the public transportation. How do others do it? Do you bring a car seat for the ride from the airport? Any reasons to stick with a car? It seems like a huge pain to drive, park, carseats, hot cars, hike to the park, etc... Thanks for any and all advice...

As you can see here I almost go with a rental car. Especially with a 2 year old it seems to make even more sense. When the little one gets tired, its going to be even worse when you have to wait for busses etc, etc ...

Of course maybe my perception of the transport is worse than it is, but I think if they're fairly young it makes sense to have the car handy.

100% agreed. You gotta get back to the room for naps--and sometimes ya gotta do it quick!! Wink I'd stick with the car. Parking/hiking isn't that bad--especially when the alternative is waiting up to 20 minutes for a bus with a cranky/tired/hungry 2 yr old. She could be asleep in the hotel by then.

I think you can rent car seats along with the car, can't you? Not sure on that... Smile

I don't remember seat belts in the buses, so a car seat could be an issue.

While they are much more expensive, the monorail resorts offer the best options for quick return for a nap in the afternoon.

Strollers are available for rent, but they are hard plastic and do not recline, so if your daughter wants to sleep in a stroller and you have one that you normally put her in, bring it.

Don't over do and DO expect a meltdown or 2. IT is a lot of stimulation for a child. Frequent shade breaks or even going into the baby care centers just to sit for a few will help.

The internal buses are as easy as a rental car in the parks, you go to the bus stop and wait or you walk to your car and deal with the heat, etc. .

I am an anti car person, so what do I know?

Ooh. Forgot about the baby care centers. That's a great idea.
