Two questions

Even though I'm not entirely sure if my sister is coming with us, I know I need to make our dining reservations now if we want a chance of getting good ones. I would really like to take her to Cinderella's Royal Table. There are openings for the day we will be in MK. My one concern is the fact that you have to pay in advance. If it turns out she can't come with us, will Disney refund her portion of the reservation?

My second question is for people who have used both the disney dining plan and the tables in wonderland card. We have used the disney dining plan on our last two trips and it was a good value. However, this time Daniel and I plan to get annual passes so we now have the option to purchase the Tables in Wonderland card. Which is the better value overall? I'm leaning towards the Tables in Wonderland card. Even with the 18% gratuity(which we would give anyway, we're big tippers), it seems like the better deal.

I am pretty sure they would refund your money as long as you canceled within their limits.
As far as the dinning plan vs Tables in Wonderland, I have spent more time running numbers than I care to admit. I think that is going to depend on how much and where you eat. For us figuring it out day by day there is hardly any difference at the end of the week. We have always done the dinning plan but are planning to try Tables for our January trip. More so because there are a few places we want to eat that does not take the dinning plan.

My suggestion would be to make all your reservations for three. If your sister is not able to join you then you can call and change the number to two. It's my understanding you won't get charged until you actually dine. If you don't show up and don't cancel they will charge a cancelation fee.

On Disney's website they require that you pay in advance to make the reservation. I've made all of our other reservations for three.

I believe you can get a refund up to a certain date before hand (it may be as little as 24 hrs). I'll double check on that.

If you have an Annual Pass we'd definitely recommend Tables in Wonderland. Unless your trip is short you'll usually come out ahead, especially if your sister is along.

I agree with the Tables in Wonderland sentiment..we had it before it was called Tables in Wonderland but it was the same premise..and I really loved it! We made back what we spent on the card in one short trip.
