I'm a train buff at heart so it goes without saying which way I will vote. Not only steam trains but model trains as well. Love to visit the Iron Spike room in WL. It has been renamed but it's new name escapes me at the moment wheelchair

I can't remember it either, but whatever it is I thought "Iron Spike Room" was a better name anyway, I still call it that. Did you have model trains as a kid? I had a giant piece of plywood with all my track affixed so it could be moved out of the way in the basement.

Up until about 10 yrs. ago I had an H.O. scale layout measuring about 8' X20' and it was quite detailed with scenery but it was never completely done. It has been dismantled and has been stored since then, and my other hobbies have taken over.

8x20 is quite big. Do you have pictures?

I went with Undiscovered Future World. I'm an Epcot-lover and would like to see behind the scenes and learn all about the original plans for the park.

That's not to say I wouldn't LOVE to do the steam train tour as well. By the way, it's the Carolwood Pacific room now, named after the railroad Walt set up in his backyard Smile

I went with Undiscovered FutureWorld too. That's on my list of must-dos. Epcot is my favorite Park. I'd love to do that tour.

Thanks, all. I'm still undecided (and apparently the Board is at a stalemate as well...)

Keep the suggestions coming!

What made you settle on those two tours when there are so many to choose from?

They all seem really interesting, but I've always wanted to do the Steam Trains tour, and Epcot is one of my very favorite parks. Plus I have a lot of questions about Epcot, which I think could be answered on the tour.

I would have probably gone with the Future World thing until I watched Michael Broggie make his Disney train presentation at a model railroad convention.

That whetted my appetite for the trains so I'd have to go with that.

As for the Carolwood Pacific room, it is an unsung treasure at WDW. It's in the DVC part of the Wilderness Lodge, and gets very little publicity. They've got a ton of pictures of Walt's train stuff there, and even a couple of the miniature train cars that he used in his backyard setup.

It's so quiet and relaxing in there usually too. Plus it makes it feel like it's cold outside even when it's 95 degrees.
