Universal Studios

On our last trip we went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. While the rides at IofA were fine, I didn't think they were that much more "thrilling" than WDW, with the exception of Dueling Dragons which is a great coaster. We didn't really spend that much time at the main Universal Studios park. We did the new Simpsons ride and MiB and Jaws, but that was about it. Was there anything that we missed that's worth going back next time? We're kind of on the fence as to whether its worth getting tickets agian. (Although they are reasonably priced).

How was the Simpsons ride? I've heard mixed reviews.

I kept bumping my head on the poorly designed car. I can strongly recommend that if you're tall you do not sit in the back. I'm not that big on 'simulators', but I guess as they go it was okay. Not something that would provoke me to go there again.

I think Universal can be fun, particularly IofA, but I would probably only go if I was in Orlando for more than a few days. There's plenty to occupy me in WDW for a short to medium trip.

Did you go on Hulk?

As for the Simpsons, you have to remember that it is a really old ride that was simply refurbished. The actual ride is the same old technology. It is nice to have an update though!

It's funny you should mention the Hulk. I did go on it and I thought it was much like Spiderman..."nicely done" but I didn't have a huge desire to ride again. That might have been partially the fault of my girlfriend who basically mocked it for being boring at the end of the ride.

I think the ride has some great theming elements and the takeoff is nice, but nothing about it really "blew my mind." I also have the complaint with it that I have with almost all of those hanging coasters, which is that there's a big drop-off from the front seat to the back.
