What is the best value hotel at Disney World?

I'm staying in a Disney World Value hotel for the third time. My family doesn't want to spend the extra money for a more expensive one because they think we'll never want to go back to a value hotel! The last two times we have stayed at Pop Century for a week each, and we still haven't seen the whole resort! This time we're taking a few off-days this time to spend some time to journey the rest of the resort we're at and DTD, but I was just curious. What do you guys think is the best value resort? We like Pop because it is the newest, the staff has been very generous in the past, and we love the variety of pools!

FYI when replying: the people staying at the resort include my parents (35 years old), myself (15 year old boy), my sister (12 year old), my brother (3 years old) and my other sister who is 5.

I've only been to A of A and Pop Century, and have not stayed in either, so I will not vote. I love A of A and Pop Century, they're fun to walk around and explore. Since the values are somewhat off the beaten path (no monorail or boat), we tend to visit the other resorts when we resort hop. More convenient transportation is a perk of the deluxe, but the value all seem very nice, just not as upscale maybe.

I've stayed at Pop, Movies and Music. I think i'd have to say POP is my favorite because it is newer and has it's own bus. I did like the other two though and would return to them. I really like the value resorts. I spend most of my time at the parks so paying extra for a moderate or deluxe doesn't make sense for me. However, i am staying at a moderate resort this year for my honeymoon Smile

My family LOVES Pop Century! We were there in June and a had a room in the back of the resort and our building looked over the lake. It was great to come "home" too and really wasnt too far from the front! I would suggest one of those buildings in the 1970s area I believe because it is more quiet and private and you have a great view when you walk out your door each morning. I am sure AoA will be super sweet but we didn't want to pay the extra money to stay there. Also...in some of the rooms at Pop they have upgraded their mattresses which is nice as well!

Ive never stayed at the values... (not making it sound like I'm better than it... just have DVC, and went wherever the parents wanted)

But if I had to choose... it would be Art of Animation.

I've never stayed at a value either, but I have a reservation for Art of Animation in October!

I've stayed at Pop, and all the All-Stars. I enjoyed all of them however I love the Pop because of the buses. I've got two stays booked at the AoA for December so I had to choose the Pop on the poll. I haven't had any bad experiences at the AS resorts. I just prefer the Pop.

Art of Animation is my first choice and it will also be offering the movies under the stars. Pretty much room types (it will be mostly family suites) and theming are going to be the big differences I would say.

For me, it's Pop Century because it is a value resort hotel that has pools, dining and recreation for the family.

I would have to say AoA especially if your sisters and brothers like Finding Nemo. The pool area is amazing!! This is the pool and kid section. They even have music and the characters speaking underwater.

My vote for Pop Century. Generally speaking, it's a little more expensive compared to the All-Stars resorts but cheaper compared to Art of Animation. Having its own bus line also helps, as well.

My vote is Pop Century and Art of Animation. They are so much better then the All Star Resorts. Yes they are both more expensive then the All Stars but worth it.

I have stayed at all of the all-stars resorts and pop-century. My family took a visit to Art of Animation and I would love to stay there one day. I voted for pop-century because it is newer, rooms are cleaner and nicer than the all-stars and it has their own bus. I had a bad experience at all-star sports because that is where a lot of the teams competing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex stay and the noise level increased with all the teams coming and going at all hours. I never had a problem with either all-stars music or movies, though I would recommend either pop-century or Art of Animation. biggrin

I've stayed at Pop and All Star Sports. My favorite is by far, Pop. I loved how Pop didn't share transportation with another hotel, the awesome food court, and the quality of the rooms. It's a pretty great deal Smile

I've only stayed at All Star Music and that was because 1) AoA only had family suites open when we took that trip and 2) I was traveling with one college student friend and one very recent jobless graduate friend who really needed for me to make the vacation as cheap as humanly possible, so Music won on the price tag! BUT, if I was going to book a resort for myself in the value category, I wouldn't even think twice before choosing AoA. I've visited all of the values and the theming there just blows me away!

Actually every December, the Pop Warner cheer, dance and football players take over the resort. I think they do their best to put them in the 7-9 buildings because they are further away from everything else. Then in January 2013, the fifteens took over the resort as well. 1,000 15 year-old South American girls who are celebrating their quinceaneras. I think Pop also gets a lot of Brazilians in July as well. Groups do end up at Pop but they try and make sure it doesn't disturb other guests.

We did All Star Music our first solo-couple visit and basically we used it as a crash pad. But as the week progressed we noticed that while the pool closed, the kiddos didn't necessarily leave and they were not a quiet group. Also they show movies poolside and we could quite clearly hear the whole film. Maybe not poolside would have been better.
Next stay was POPs but at that time (and I believe still today) they have either double beds or a King, and since DH2 was using the other bed (DH is 6'6" AND DS2 is 6'8") it was a bit short for all of us.
Thirds stay was at Coronado with two queens. It is a large resort and we were toward the back so it was quiet. We made it work with the frig and coffee maker brewing constantly in the morn, but DS1 is also 6'6" and with all of my tall men and the two boys sharing a bed, well, they made it work because we got a nice discount and again it was a crash pad.

I am the ultimate organizer (even when we camped) so I was the one who got people into the showers in a timely fashion, made all the pots of coffee, made sure pre-breakfast food was in one son's hands, clothes were in the right drawers, and made a couple trips to laundry. I don't know if anyone (except DH) knows that it flows because I do it,or if that is Disney magic (LOL).

Next stay is POFQ and we have our own room with Queen beds. DS2 is coming with a friend and they are also getting their own room with two beds. I don't even want to look in that room during the week, but I will make sure Mousekeeping gets a bonus from us!
