What This Board is About

We've been having a little trouble lately. The Admin and I are unaccustomed to this, as up to now this board has been largely fulfilling what we visualized it to be -- a friendly, mature, generous, and gracious place for Disney fans to connect. However, recently (more than once), there have been the kinds of discussions I associate with other boards. We are in no way interested in any of the following:

  1. Rudeness - There are plenty of Disney boards where you can go form cliques and be nasty to each other. We don't have any interest in being one of those. If you don't like what someone else is saying, just ignore it.
  2. Moralizing - I have never understood why people are so excited to tell other people what to do or not to do in Disney World. I sometimes park in the Poly and go to the Magic Kingdom instead of parking in the TTC. This is discouraged, but I'm a grown-up and can make a decisions as to when it becomes inappropriate. ZapperZ, a long-time friend of the board, was very good about pointing out rules without being rude. You can let people know rules without moralizing about it.
  3. Arguing - If someone does any of the above, be the bigger person and just let it go. Flame wars have no place here. Period.
  4. Nastiness - Garbage posting, like making fun of other people's spelling, etc, is completely uncalled for and unecessary.

In the past I've let minor transgressions go and things have worked themselves out. That doesn't seem to be happening anymore, so I'm going to have to step in. Maybe because we have more users now there are likely to be more conflicts; I don't know. But quite simply we don't want to run that kind of message board. We want to be nice. If you don't want to be nice, there are plenty of other message boards for you.

If I can summarize the above: Act Like a Grown-Up
