What Percentage of Meals Do You Usually Eat Off Property?

In the thread about local Orlando restaurants, MouseTraveler mentioned that he rarely eats off property. I'm the same way. I would say typically unless my trip is 7 days or longer, I will eat probably 0 meals off property, maybe one. After that it usually goes up a bit because I get a bit tired of that characteristic that all Disney food has, that I can't put my finger on. How about you guys?

Great question--I'd love to hear others weigh in on this. We eat 1-2 meals off property every week we're there (if we're not there for a whole week, we'll probably do Innocent.

Our last two trips have been one, and they were both the day we arrived.

We had breakfast one trip at a Denny's near the airport, and the other we ate lunch on International Drive at a restaurant chain that my wife was familiar with.

That's it!

It can vary a lot. Some trips we wind up wanting to fit in more Disney restaurants after really good experiences and some trips we need some variety. On average though we usually eat a couple of meals off property. I'd guess something like 5%.

Hi,

Speaking of dedication, what happens if you feel more "dead" than "icated"? I suppose you nap.

I don't think I've ever eaten off-property, but would like to once in awhile. Not being able to drive has its drawbacks, for without a car it's nearly impossible to get around in Florida.

Cab can be pretty expensive, I wonder if there are any other feasible ways to get around out there. I guess if you just really wanted to try someplace you could do one cab. Compared to the cost of a meal it's not that much.

My dad tells me about some bus service you can get that will ferry you from WDW to some of the other places for about ten bucks. I know he took it to Universal once. Might be affiliated with Mears.

I was also thinking Mears as I was reading your post.

I guess you could also take the Lynx busses, but I'd rather stay on property! biggrin

Disney's probably just fine with it not being too convenient to get off property. They like where you and your wallet are just fine. silly
