What restaurant should you give another chance?

What restaurant did you not like the first time that you're starting to think needs another chance?

What's a place that most people don't like that you think is under rated or has changed recently that people should give another look?

Hoop De Doo..we liked it but didn't love it. I was underwhelmed by the food & the unlimited Sangria I was looking forward to tasted like feet.

I wish Nine Dragons would have a resurgence and become awesome. I've never been to a "fancy" Chinese Restaurant. Only take out places..I would love to try it but I don't think I've ever heard a good (let alone great) review of the place.

Tony's Town Square. I went once, loved the atmosphere, but thought it was just ok. I would like to go again just to have a better memory of it (I was 12 when we last went)/

Also, last time we went to Marrakesh it was not good at all...I want it to redeem itself. Same thing with Ohana, though I would want to try Kona Cafe

Tony's is just bad in my opinion. We went there once and it was just so blah. My 18 dollar spaghetti was worse than opening a jar of Prego and boiling some noodles at home. No good.

Kona is wonderful though..you should try it!

I've been hearing that Ohana has bounced back a little bit, but I think Chef TJ is moving again so that might not last.

Sometimes it is really hard giving them a second chance. I mean after all you only have so many meals during your trip that you sure do not want to waste one. However, on the other hand you do not want to miss out on something that could end up being good either.
Our first trip to Tony's left us both feeling like once was enough. However, last year we booked it again (mainly because it is on Main Street and table service). We were both very happy with it that trip. So much so that we booked it again for our following trip. It is a bit pricey if you are not on a meal plan but once I compared the prices to what we pay here at our local pizza place and add the fact that it is on Main Street and it is table service the prices do not seem to bad.
The only other place we have tried and really did not like was (going to whisper here because I know some folks here really like it) San Angel Inn. The setting is beautiful, the service was great, the food....not so great. I can not say it was bad but it was not good either. We booked it again for the trip we are taking in just a few weeks. HOWEVER, the more I thought about it the more I did not want to try it again so with just a little over two weeks to go, I called canceled that reservation and we have decided to give The Turf Club in Saratoga Springs a try.
Bottom line is we are now at 50/50 on giving a restaurant a second chance.

Scrappy -- I'm glad you had a better experience with Tony's. I was disappointed the last time I went, but had been happy with it up to that point. You can't beat patio seating during a parade, though!

Another restaurant I want to give a second chance to is Coral Reef. Went ages ago and wasn't impressed, and have heard mixed reviews since.

This is exactly why so few places get a 2nd chance with us. We usually don't get to go to all the places we love, so if you burn us once you're going to be out of the rotation for quite a while.
