What's Your #1 Ride Pet Peeve?

Anything on the rides, queue lines, loading, disembarking, etc. that annoys the heck out of you? Let it all out! laugh

Jumping the line or having to sit/stand next to someone who's personal hygene could be better.

Definitely jumping the line, by anyone, but ESPECIALLY tour groups.

Getting on a ride and then having to wait! I think I hate it more at the end of a ride when that happens....you sit there waiting to move to the disembarking area but for whatever reason you just sit there waiting

Here's another vote for Queue Jumpers.

ALTHOUGH.

We went to Universal (boooo hissss etc) and waiting over an hour for Spiderman. After this long, boring and stiflingly hot wait we finally boarded the ride, all annoyance from the queue completely forgotten because now we were on the ride and clearly about to have our faces rocked off with excitement of superhero proportions, when something went wrong with the ride and we just had to trundle round the track while not one of the effects were working at all. We got off at the end and thought ah well, no worries, these things happen, they'll just let us go round again since the problem was already fixed and the effects were now working.

But no.

We just had to exit, and if we wanted to ride Spierman now that it was working we would have to rejoin the 60 minute queue.

I bet Mickey wouldn't stand for that sarcastic

Wow, Pegosaurus - that is CRAP. Disney would have put you right back on the ride for sure (then again, Disney would have never let you ride the attraction when it was only half working!).

My biggest pet peeve, other than the aforementioned line jumpers would be when I have a FastPass and it's not any faster (or just barely) than the regular line. Slightly less annoying is a Fast Pass line that, while shorter than regular, is still a 20 minute wait. I've already waited 1-2 hours for the FastPass to come up, seems they should be moving those lines along SUPER fast. On the flip side, though I've seen a lot of glares on the regular line, I'm pretty understanding about waiting for the FastPassers to get on ahead of the regular line.

Peg, that's awful!!! I would have complained (not that Universal would have cared). I can't believe they didn't give you a magic "ride again" card or something!

My big pet peeve is the same as JeffC's. Sitting in my pirate ship/log/iasw boat/la gran fiesta tourboat waiting to disembark and having a million boats/logs/etc build up behind me...every single one BUMPING the heck outta my boat/log/etc...is a huge pet peeve. It actually keeps me from riding some of those rides sometimes!

The first thing I think of when someone mentions pirates is whether or not I'll have to get whiplash at the end laugh

Whistlers. We stood behind a whistler to ride Space Mountain a few years ago..it was SO annoying. I never knew I hated whistlers until that day.

MIne is kinda of like Jason's. When we are in the Fastpass line and everyone in the regular line starts glaring and you and looking upset. I planned ahead,so screw you! It isn't like it is something that only some people get to take advantage of!

The "TOUR GROUPS"! Okay you hit a very sore spot with we there. When one person from a tour group waits in line and when they get close to geting on the ride, the other 29 people in the group suddenly push there way all the way to the front of the line. That really irk's me!

That combined with MISINFORMATION about the FastPass kills me as well..I have heard tons of people comment that you have to "buy" the FastPass or you have to "stay at a Disney resort". So many people have bad information..and then they tell there friends which creates a whole new breed of moron.

Yeah, but you know what? I can deal with the glares from the misinformed. I actually think it's kind of funny. Believe me, the glares aren't pet peeves!

I can't imagine going on vacation and NOT doing some research into where we're going. It seems pretty dumb to walk through the gates of WDW and NOT know how FastPass works!

So agree on the linejumpers, especially the tour groups. I purposely don't let them pass, stomp on a foot or two, accidently fling an elbow! It's just so rude.

Also, I laugh at the people glaring from the non-fast pass line. If you didn't bother to get one, don't be upset then.

Yes, but is it bad that I want to feed the misinformation so that my fastpass remains valuable? silly

I feel the single rider line is NOT for large groups. I don't mind the family that will ride singly, but sn entire school group? Or the people who get in the single rider line & want to ride together.

Also, tbe people who think it is OK in a long line (like Soarin' fastpass) to push past you if a member of your party is going too slow. Just happened to us last week - a couple pushed my 72yo mother to get past her, only to wait right in front of us for 10 minutes in the loading area!

I always find that interesting as well, when people are so eager to move up an inch that they'll be blatantly rude about it not realizing that they're going to have to wait just as long.

I definitely agree with the fastpass comments posted above regarding mean glares and misinformation.

My #1 pet peeves are people who make noise on the rides and flash photography.

How many times do the guests have to be told "no flash photography" until they get it? It ruins dark rides like The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Haunted Mansion.

I've had people who clap and sing loudly along with the music, which is extremely frustrating. Singing quietly to yourself is one thing, but making a one-man show out of it is unacceptable.

I had forgotten about flash photography. We rode PotC in Disneyland and the people in the boat in front of us took a flash picture every 10 seconds. It really does ruin the ride.

The FASTPASS angst is a bit of a drag. I'm not sure what they're so upset about. I have a mild peeve with the accuracy of the wait times. The last time I was there they might as well have been random number generators.

I was going to go with the line jumpers too... until Bella mentioned the whistler! That must have been awful!

Well, I got into an arguement once with a Brazilian Tour Group who was jumping the line to get into the bus to MK at Pop Century.
It was a specially bad day to be getting on that bus, you see, for the Disney Marathon was being held that day. So... really long lines, really few buses, you get the picture.
I am particulary angry about jumping the bus line. If you are in the movies, or on a ride, you know that, eventually, everyone is going to get inside. Not on the bus. All that people who got up early and planned ahead are going to be standing on the cold for another 15 minutes just because some people jumped the line.

On that day, I overheard the tour guide telling her group that she had just found out about a Marathon that was being held and, therefore, holding the traffic. Great guide! You know, because the marathon had just been schedule on the previous, day, right? LOL!
So I started to argue when they stared getting everyone who had been at the gift shop into the line.

There you go for by biggest pet peeve: Brazilian Tour Groups, as a Brazilian, I am really ashamed of them! Not all of us are unpolite like that, I promise you!

Mon - welcome! Yes, sometimes massive groups of moving people can be pretty irritating. I sometimes think they think their little flags give them magic "line cutting" powers biggrin

So - did you run in one of the marathon events? We have several "wanna be" Disney runners here...although I suspect that most of us just want to do it for the snazzy perks and fun parties.

I suspect it's "Tour Groups out of their element" more than any particular country. It's hard to be traveling abroad and not know everything that's going on. Then you add in the number of people and mishaps are bound to happen.

I think mine would be the flash photography.. or anything that a person does that detracts from the experience for other people... talking, singing, BEING ON THE PHONE grrr... etc. I always try to be considerate and think "hey these other people paid good money to see this attraction, so I'm going to try to enjoy it while allowing them to enjoy it too".. why dont they think that for me too? (lol they dont need to know I Have a silver pass!)

And yes, at Disneyland, the flash picture thing has unfortunately gotten out of control... they used to really be good about stopping it.. they'd even make polite announcements after a flash went off.. but not anymore. and if you say something to a CM, there's really nothing they can do about it because by the time you see a CM on a dark ride, you're at the end Sad

I usually just address the person directly now lol.. sometimes I do it in the passive aggressive manner like "gee, I sure would enjoy this pirate ride if the paparazzi wasnt on it with me" you know.. loud enough for them to hear lol...etcetc

I dont really get bothered by the morons in line.. we just make fun of them! and if a kid is misbehaving or being a brat, we make scary faces at them while the adults arent looking! good times! haha

DD - I heart that you make scary faces at little miscreants. Laughing out loud

And Brad - for sure. It's certainly easy to be annoyed with people when we know the terrain so well. I'm sure I would be lost just about anyplace else on earth.

This happened a lot to me on my last trip, mostly on the rides that aren't supposed to stop (ie. finding Nemo, Haunted Mansion, Peter pan, spaceship earth. . .as I said, this happened A LOT).
We'd be in the middle of a ride, sometimes going up or down a hill, and the ride would stop for a few minutes. So you'd just be hanging there or bracing yourself in the seat trying to be comfortable while the "The ride will begin again shortly" announcement plays over and over and over.

When asking the cast members what happened upon getting off the ride, I heard a few times that a child freaked out upon entering the dark (Haunted Mansion and Spaceship earth), so they had to stop the ride and remove the guest. Poor kids.
