Port Orleans Riverside. It is really pretty and relaxing with lovely Southern style theming. There is a special atmosphere and tranquility to it. It is easy to walk to Port Orleans French Quarter from Riverside for a little taste of New Orleans. The boat trip to Downtown Disney from these resorts is a definate asset.

My fave is Port Orleans Riverside. I love the "Southern Mansions". We always stay in that section. Grounds are very lush and romantic with the azelea bushes in bloom and magnolia trees. You feel as though you've stepped back in time to a more gracious period. The garden areas are just beautiful! The Mill where you can either eat at food court or restaurant (dinner only) is really neat. Lots of food choices and the working water wheel outside is cool. My DH loves PO French Quarter. He likes that it's more small and quaint. Also the cobblestone walkways, wrought iron fences. Kids loved the "Mardi Gras" themed pool with the giant sea serpent slide. We've stayed at the other Mods and found either of these at Port Orleans to be the best. They are both more relaxing and peaceful than the other Mods we stayed at and not as jammed packed. You know there's a lot of people staying there but you don't feel like there is.

Another vote for POR. I think it's one of the prettiest resorts in any category.

POFQ, Fr the reasons mentioned above. Quiet and tranquil, romantic at night to walk around....

POFQ for me, I think the size is a real plus. No matter where your room is its just a short walk to boat/bus/main building, this is something I found frustrating at Coronado Springs. The boat service is great too...love not having to rely on the bus all the time.

That being said I had some really wonderful customer service moments at Coronado, I'm sure POFQ would be just as gracious but there were not any problems to solve last time I was at POFQ (airline not coronado problems btw...they just went above and beyond to help us even though it wasn't their fault)

POFQ is the only one i've stayed at and it's where we are booked for next May yay None of the others really appeal to me. I love how it is so compact, we stayed in building 7 last time and it still felt close to food court and buses and there was also the bonus of being able to walk to POR food court when we wanted a change of menu. Plus the boat ride down to DTD is lovely. Also last time we were there they were constantly giving out bead necklaces and coins to the children which my DDs are hoping for again this time!

Port Orleans Riverside is my fave for all the reasons Miss Mikki and Poppet mentioned. There is just something very romantic about it that draws me in. I love the boat ride to DTD. Another plus is Yee Haw Bob. That guy is amazing! yay

Port Orleans French Quarter! I've been luck enough to stay at all of the Moderates. Caribbean Beach is very nice but didn't really pull me in. We stayed at Coronado Springs this past fall and it's lovely, impressive even, but very, very BIG! I must say that I found the quiet pool area in the Ranchos section a slice of California heaven. Oak trees, adobe architecture, lush greenery - I'd be in heaven with a ground floor room facing the pool. I digress...

French Quarter is absolutely charming. muchlove The landscaping, the fanciful ironwork, the river, the fountains....21 days to go, I can't wait!

I'm so glad to hear good reports about POFQ. We are staying there for the first time in November!!
We have stayed at The Yacht Club two times, Fort Wilderness (trailers at the time) and a long time ago at the Polynesian. So excited for the French Quarter ! mickey

Port Orleans Riverside!!! We "Disneymooned" there. We have stayed at POR twice now. It just oozes lazy hazy Southern goodness. From the music playing at check in all the way through. I love how big it is, it is so serene walking to the room, even after your feet and legs are killing you from walking all day long. And the boat to DTD is a HUGE bonus!

Have never stayed at POFQ, we may someday.

Coronado Springs is also gorgeous!! And closer to everything. While we really like POR best, we would probably book CSR before we booked POR. The entire bus situation was just a way better experience for us at CSR. and all the bus rides to the parks are shorter, it seemed.

CBR is not our style, at least we can say we tried it.

POFQ is amazing and I love that you can get anywhere with a short walk. It is by far the most quiet and romantic that we have stayed in. The bus stop is never crowded and you are first on first off when going through Riverside. I like both PO resorts but FQ is my favorite by far! PLus the beignets are the best!!! We even got some for the return trip on DME last time!

confused Oh man....we recently changed our Sept trip from POR to CBR, not because we don't think we'll like POR but rather because I'm looking for a more tropical vacation. Plus, POTC happens to be one of our favorite Disney movies. Please tell me I won't be disappointed....

If you are looking for tropical, you will love it. The resort is gorgeous. We liked the food court. To walk around at sunset is AWESOME! It's just not us, and our bathroom was disgusting. I just had to close my eyes every time I went in.

Having said that, it was still WAY better for those last 5 nights than staying offsite at the Wyndham Grand Orlando for the first 3 nights of our trip! Even though the bathroom at the Wyndham did not give me the heebie jeebies.

We are in the minority with our opinion. There are TONS of folks out there who only stay here. Everyone is different.

I too think you will love CBR if you are looking for tropical. It is our favorite moderate resort although it is the only moderate in which we have stayed. We love the tropical theme. We have stayed there 3 or 4 times and have never had an issue with any of our rooms.

I love POFQ!! It is just so quaint and you actually feel like you've been transported to New Orleans. The pool is lovely, food court is pretty good, everything is really close together. We took a walk over to POR, and loved it. The entertainment at night was fun, and there was just something really appealing about the place, so I changed my Oct reservation from CBR to POR (I just felt like I wouldn't be "home" at CBR! I'm clearly overthinking this....

I'm throwing my vote down for French Quarter! Beignets for breakfast, what more is there to say really? awesome But my friends and I had a grand time there for my 30th birthday. Not a big resort, so no worries about long walks to anything, the pool was cool & we enjoyed the hot tub as well.

We've stayed at both Port Orleans, French Quarter and Caribbean Beach. We liked Port Orleans a lot better than Caribbean Beach. We loved the French Quarter atmosphere and at the time the had the best pizzas around. mickey

I stayed at CBR in April and my DD18 and I loved it! It was beautiful in the evening; especially, at sunset. I've also stayed at CSR and was not as impressed with the landscaping and the pool area. I liked CBR's pool much better and their toddler pool/water area was fantastic. I have never been to POFQ, but would love to try it.

AHHHHH, you all are making me want to change our reservations to POR. I think we will like both CBR and CSR, but our original gut instinct was POR/POFQ and we changed it!! haha

In happy news though--19 days!!! I am getting so, so excited.
