Who's Won a Disney Dream?

ZapperZ blog post about next years promotion replacing the "Year of a Million Dreams" got me thinking about a good/bad experience. We were in the Animal Kingdom and had just gotten off the Safari. We had gotten there at open on an EMH day so we were headed out of the park. As we got off the ride they ushered a family over to the side. We tried to move around but they indicated that we should go too, and it turned out that we had won the Animal Kingdom Dream Fast Pass. That was awesome, except we were about to leave the park. We said we'd come back later in the day but we never did, so 3 unused fastpasses for every ride went to waste in our rooms. (They're only good for the day).

So I was wondering, has anyone else won any of the "dreams"?

I've won the Dream Fastpasses as well, but this was at the Disney-MGM Studios (at least it was still called that when we won it last year). We were about to get on the Great Movie Ride when the Dream Squad appears and gave us the fast passes.

And like you, we had already gone on almost all the attractions on the fast passes, so we just kept it with all the tabs intact as a souvenir.

Zz.

For MGM now they just need a fastpass with 6 "Toy Story Mania" fastpasses on it. That would be quite a "Dream prize". Line there is SO much longer than everything else.

I think Magic Kingdom would be the ultimate dream fastpass, but DHS would be the next best at this point!!

We received the Mickey Ears a few weeks ago over at Conservation Station at Rafiki's Planet Watch.

We were about two steps away from getting Dream fastpasses the same day at the Pangani Trail. The CM stopped us and the group ahead of us got them.

I saw some people getting ears when I was there recently. I don't want to put ears down or anything, but I'm not sure anyone's ever really "dreamed" of Mickey ears.

I just want to stay in the castle. When will people stop being able to do that? And, at that point, how much will it cost to stay there? Anybody got info on that stuff?

They actually turned out to be a pain to carry around for the rest of the day. I was really hoping for the fastpass.

Agreeing with Brad's disclaimer that I don't want to diss your mouse ears, but geez...

Imagine the disappointment when you're pulled aside for a Dream...what have you won? A fast pass? Cinderella's Castle?!?!?? A MILLION DOLLARS?!?!?

No...even better...MOUSE EARS!!!!

Yeah that's a fair point. I'd probably feel like a "disappointment dispenser" if I were the cast members in question.

I have made 3 trips totaling 16 days so far during this promotion and have won nothing..zip, zilch, nada, nothing. At this point I would take anything (well I would have taken anything anyway) I was talking to a Guest Services CM about this and she said that they have more complaints about the prizes. People complaining they were leaving and didn't need the FP's, didn't want the ears, etc. Me, I'd be so happy with anything. I have 1 more chance in 2 weeks when we will be there for 5 more days. Wish me luck!

Wow I'm shocked to hear someone "Complaining" about anything. Especially the fastpasses. When we won it was before noon and every time I've seen someone win it was in the AM. Maybe you have better chances cause the parks are less crowded?

We won ears too.. I'm a pass holder and am there at least 2-4 days a month about 10 months out of the year if not more... I was so excited to win something! We won going into the figment ride(a ride we hate but went on because of our out of town visitors)

Have they always been doing ears as a dream? I didn't really remember seeing a lot earlier in the year, but my last trip I saw a ton of them. I wonder if they got close to the end of the year and didn't have a Million "Dreams" given away so they cranked out the ears?

You know, I wonder if they started handing out dreams next to "under-appreciated" rides in order to bolster attendance there... hmm...

And, Brad, I've seen the ears since the start of the promo. They sort of became the "symbol" of the YoaMD...

We went to Disneyland twice during the promotion. We did end up winning some pins, but that was it. sad

We were awfully jealous of those people running around with their Dream Fastpasses... silly

So how much longer is the promo going on? Is it extending through all of 2009?

During the promotion the wife and I won the dream fastpass in Epcot once, the special dream Mickey ears once in DTD, and we also won a late stay in the park but ours was in AK. They were giving out MANY of these late stays and they told everyone to meet in and around Chester & Hester Dinoland and then we were told what attractions were available and I forget how late we could stay because we left before they finally closed.

That's so cool. I never even knew that was one of the "dreams!" About how many people were given the dream to stay late?

I would have to say at least a few hundred families.

Still--what a fun opportunity! And AK would probably be the best. Do you remember if the safari was running, or was it like EMH when they shut it down because of the dark?

Annie it was closed because it was dark and I guess it was past the animals bedtime
