WL Room Requests...

Hi Folks. Well it's looking good for an October trip..( our farewell trip ) So we have a 48 hour hold on a booking reservation.( got to book flights later )..We have decided to push the boat out, so to speak, and stay in a deluxe for the first time, our past resorts have been mods...Anyway, to my question..We have decided on WL over AKL mainly due to it's location, but to anyone who has stayed there before, have you made any room requests.?..I read on the unofficial guide that the rooms on the 4th,5th, and 6th floors are good...But avoid rooms 70 to 99 as these overlook the main lobby and can be noisy from Whispering Canyon...Any advice would be grateful..

I kinda like overlooking the main lobby. The noise has never bothered me, but if you're easily disturbed then I guess maybe it could be a problem. If I were staying at Wilderness Lodge again, I would want a Bay Lake View.

On our last stay at WL we asked for a woods view. We were on the ground level of the resort with a beautiful view. I can't remember our room number sad.

Not sure..Just wanted a standard room..Then she said about this upgrade..To be honest it happened that quick I was kinda saying oh thank you, I was desperate to get back onto Virgin airlines to confirm my flight..

I just returned from my first stay at Wilderness Lodge (and first at a deluxe resort) and was in 5062. It is considered a standard view room, which is what I booked, but I would rate the view as SUB-standard! It overlooked the dumpsters and either delivery or garbage trucks were coming and going in the middle of the night. When I checked in, I asked if there was either a courtyard or woods view room available but was told there was not...and even if there was, I would have had to pay extra for it as - quote - "we are not currently offering complimentary upgrades". So you are very lucky to have gotten the upgrade! That said, I did love the Lodge...I was just disappointed with the location of my room Sad

Wow, that would be VERY disappointing. A deluxe resort with a dumpster view. Sick

I have been reading a review of WL and best room choices..It was stating wood view rooms 6002 up to 6030.. That's like 6002/6004/6006/ etc,etc...Prior to doing my check in nearer the time..Is it possible to request any of these rooms ?..To be honest I'am not really too bothered, it was just something my DW asked me the other day...

You can request, but there is no guarantee you will get them.

Cheers Mr Hub...No harm in asking nearer the time...

Usually when we have gone in past years we have sent a fax to PORS asking for specific buildings, did it the last 2 years and haven't been disappointed with our rooms yet - we did that about 4/5 days before arriving

no harm in asking???

Think Faxing is more standout than e-mail as they must recieve a higher percentage of e-mail every day compared to the retro communication that is Faxsimile Nerd

That was what I thought but there is an unofficial PORS page where I got our info from and there are e-mail addresses but I was told they go to the main Disney offices rather than the resorts and the only way to get a direct message to the resorts themselves was to send a fax

Might seem a bit behind in the times but every time I have done it, it has worked a treat!

King Fergus

Yeah you can but in the past there has never been an option to have special requests unless that's changed since last september????
