Wycked's Disneyland TR - March 28th.

Hey all! Almost back from all the adventures with an old friend visiting from out of state and promise to have a full TR very soon. I have tons of fun pictures to share and everything. I will say right now that we had a blast and the crowds were not nearly as bad as I anticipated for Spring Break time.

As I said, full TR soon!!

Okay so.. I guess I lied a little.. This TR was a long time coming, LoL. Oh well. Better late than never? crossfingers

So our trip started on a rough note. My wonderful friend Verity and I went to Bakersfield to pick up our other friend Beth, who came to visit from Idaho. It had been about 5 years since she had gone to Disneyland and she really wanted us all to go together. On the way to Bako Verity tells me that she is not able to get the day off from work and she knows Beth is going to be really upset but we would find a way to make it work out. So we tell Beth who promptly answers with "Well I am going to Disneyland with or without you!... ... but I really hope it is with you.." laugh

What ended up happening is Beth and I went on an early morning adventure to get to Disneyland and Verity would meet up with us later in the day after work. So we were up at 5am to make our way to the Metrolink (train) station to get to Anaheim. It really wasn't that bad. Leave Lancaster at 5:30, a quick train change at Union Station in LA, get to Anaheim at 8:35, catch bus, get to Disneyland at 9am.

Beth and I waiting for the train.

Me and Beth are on our way!

We got to our bus stop, walked across the street to the parks and made our way to the ticket booth to buy Beth's ticket and get her a birthday button. Then we waited in line for DCA to open to get a fastpass for World of Color. (We didn't end up seeing the show but more about that later."

We're here!!!

The gates opened and in we went. Got the FP for the show then backtracked towards the front to ride Soarin' over California. (oh yeah, I should mention. Beth had never been to DCA before so all of this was new to her, it was awesome!)
After that we headed over to the Paradise Pier are to ride California Screamin' and Toy Story Mania.

Our ride pic from Screamin' LoL!

So cute with our glasses!

I was player #1.. I kicked butt! (in my opinion. I know some people have crazy high scores.)

On our way out of Paradise Pier we stopped to have out picture taken with Mater and Lightning McQueen!

Then I (kinda) forced Beth to go on Tower of Terror with me. It totally freaked her out, mostly cause she had NO IDEA what was going to happen and she has a small fear of elevators (which I DID NOT know prior to riding!!) but she admitted after that she was really glad she did it and actually kind of liked it.

Us in the front row!

Tower!

After all that we did some walking around to check out the shops, took a small break cause Beth got a call from her kids and I got a call from Andy, then we headed over into Disneyland!

Right as we entered the park onto Main Street we see Tweedledee and Tweedledum, who I have never seen before in the parks, so we had to stop and take a picture and I had to get an autograph. (Yes... I am an adult who has a Disneyland autograph book... don't judge me.)

Beth and I with the Tweedles!

We headed for Tomorrwland to take a ride on Space Mountain and to get a snack, Mickey pretzel with cheese!

After that I didn't take many pictures for awhile but we headed over to Big Thunder Railroad then rode Haunted Mansion, POTC, Indiana Jones and the Jungle Cruise.

Us on the Jungle Cruise

After all that I decided I was ready for something sweet. That is when I introduced Beth to the magic that is a Dole Whip Float!

We did a little bit of shopping and messing around on Main Street, mostly at the Emporium, and Beth founds some postcards and thought of the cute idea to have Mickey sign them and she could mail them home to her kids.. We spent a little time taking random pics in an empty Pixie Hollow, Tink and her friends were not out that day so there was no one in there. Then we headed for Toontown to see Mickey.
Back in junior high we took a school trip to Disneyland with our marching band (Beth played clarinet and I was in Drill Team) and we took tons of random pictures in Mickey's house. So when we went this time we re created some of those same pics from back in the day, it was fun!
We got in to see Mickey and he signed the cards for the kids. I got a great picture of him at his "makeup table" signing them. I was like a kid in a candy store! The staging area and Mickey were all set up Steamboat Willie style, it was awesome!

Signing the cards!

Beth, Mickey and me!

We were leaving Toontown when we got the call from Verity that she was (finally) there and almost to the gate. We headed over to the front to meet up with her and then decided to have some dinner. We ended up at the River Belle Terrace, got our food and found some nice seats outside. The weather at this point was beautiful and the sun was starting to go down.

The Sailing Ship Columbia as the sun goes down!

My food from River Belle. Rosemary Turkey sandwich, beans and pasta salad.

Me, Verity and Beth outside River Belle

At this point we decided to not go back to DCA to see World of Color. To Beth, even though she wanted to see it, Verity had just gotten there and we didn't want to ditch her cause she was not able to get into our viewing section. So instead we re rode Pirates and Big Thunder. Then we headed over to Main Street for some more shopping and to see the fireworks. In one of the shops Beth bought a super cute sweater and I found my awesome Mickey purse. We then went into Penny Arcade/Candy Palace for some squished pennies and some candy. Beth got her traditional caramel apple, in the style of Mickey, and I got my chocolate covered strawberry!

See? In the style of Mickey, LoL!

Waiting on the fireworks

The fireworks show was great like always, all three of us really enjoyed them.

If you look close you can see Tinkerbell flying over the castle!

After the show

After that we decided to walk around Fantasyland and just enjoy being there. We were pretty tired by this point but didn't really want to leave yet, LoL.

In line for Snow White's Scary Adventure

Beth and the Sword in the Stone

A random picture of King Aurther's Carousel

Finally it was time to head home. It was a really long but really awesome day that I got to spend with friends I had not seen in 10 years but it felt as though all that time had never passed. Truly the best!

Never! I wish I had gotten autographs from the characters last year.

I would hope not actually, haha! That would be some expensive autographs.

They have been in DL for years... Do they not have any in WDW anywhere?
