Your first must-eat there meal..

I swear on my life..I do talk about things other than food in real life. I promise..

This thread
got me thinking..what is the first thing you have to eat once you get to WDW?

We usually arrive around lunchtime and I have to have my disgusting $45 WDW Cheeseburger and Fries. Once I eat it I really feel like I am at WDW.
So what's your first meal?

I don't think you can talk about food too much for this crowd. biggrin

We go through phases with different traditions. Liberty Tree Tavern is a great place to go for your first meal. It's good food and it's in the MK so you can go straight there.

There's nothing I must eat first, but it's not Disney for me without a trip to Boma or without Dole Whip!

Ha! It used to be for me that the vacation did NOT start without a Lapu lapu at the Polynesian. These days, I'm less enthralled with 'Ohana's food/service, so we don't always make it there first for dinner, though, so I'll have to find a new "starter food" for my vacay...

Eager to hear suggestions Smile

As said in the aforementioned thread it's Earl of Sandwich for the kids and I. We usually get in late and NEED a Disney fix so its off to DTD for us! But the kids and I do either Chef Mickey's Or 1900 Park fare for our first breakfast! But we also have to do Ohana and Tokyo Dinning...oh and 50's prime time...we have to sneak that in there too...we do ALOT of eat at WDW!!

We like to eat in the parks if we get there in the morning, but one time we got in at night and had a really nice meal at Boma. I think that might become our "arriving at night" tradition.

We had been doing Big River Brewing for dinner, but this trip we're getting in late and might just grab something at Capt. Cook's. First big meal will be breakfast the next morning at Crystal Palace. Haven't tried CP for bkfst yet, only lunch. Looking forward to it!

That's a fun first stop. The DHS restaurants are all kind of fun to me.

I agree..but..is it just me or does the food in Sci-Fi seem a little off? Granted the last time I was there was over five years ago but we ordered a steak with a red wine glaze and a fancy pasta. It seems to me that a place like that needs to stick with the classics, burger, fries, sandwiches, maybe even some rotissere chicken etc. Not like the stuff they serve at CS locations..like classier stuff. I guess I just feel like the themeing doesn't match the food.

We would like to say that California Grill. We must eat first, when we have been there and without do it our trip is incomplete. It is our one of the favorite Disney's eateries that constantly improves their services and food qualities and we hope that they keep them as well in future. We love it so much!!

Best Regards,

We really do not have a must do first meal. We do like to start and end our trip in the Magic Kingdom though. So, our first meal lately has either been Tony,s or we hop over and do the California Grill.

Any favorites at Tony's? I haven't been super pleased with the choices there and would love to hear recommendations.

They do some pretty interesting dishes! Everybody seems to like the Beef and Bleu salad!

Ditto on that...Dave got pasta there once and it was NEON green.

It was odd.

We always make it a point to get the earliest flight out when we go to WDW. So it's usually a 7AM flight which, since we live in the Northeast, gets us into Orlando at about 1030AM or so. By the time we get DME, get to our resort and check in, we are starving! So it's almost become a traditon that our first meal at WDW is (drum roll pleaese)

The counter service at whatever resort we are staying at!!

I stick with a burger, fries, cherry coke, and a yummy sundae!
