    Many Disney Cast Members Find Path to Careers through Historically Black College and University Experience

    Disney cast members come from all around the country and the world, and each take a different path to their careers. And for some, that path starts during their Historically Black College and University (HBCU) education.

    The HBCU are colleges and universities in the United States, established prior to 1964, that with the intention of serving the African-American community. There are 106 historically black colleges and universities in the US.

    The Walt Disney World Resort employs many HBCU alumni in many different roles.

    Haunted Mansion Dooney & Bourke Bag to Debut at Disney Parks on Friday the 13th

    The Haunted Mansion is getting its very own Dooney & Bourke handbag, and the purse is debuting on Friday, September 13.

    This spooky new bag features a grey and black color palette with a pattern that is reminiscent of the wallpaper in the halls of the Haunted Mansion. The inside of the purse is a deep red colored fabric. The purse also has a special hangtag featuring the attractions iconic logo.

    Starbucks Opens at Epcot’s Fountain View Café

    Coffee lovers, it's time to celebrate. The Fountain View Cafe in Epcot has officially reopened as a Starbucks, joining the Magic Kingdom's Main Street Bakery as the two in-park coffee destinations.

    The Cafe still features a futuristic look while incorporating the Starbucks logo and signage - there's no question that you're walking into a Starbucks as you head up the walkway into the restaurant.

    Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Heading to Broadway in 2014

    Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie are taking a magic carpet ride all the way to Broadway.

    A musical adaptation of Disney's 1992 animated hit Aladdin is set to debut on the Great White Way in February of next year.

    The Broadway production features music by Tony Award winner Alan Menken with lyrics by Tim Rice and the late Howard Ashman. Menken, Rice, and Ashman were also responsible for the music and score in the film version.

    Walt Disney Company Gets Green Light to Build New High-Tech Studio Complex at Golden Oak Ranch

    The Walt Disney Company received approval from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to go ahead with plans to build a new high-tech production studio. The new studio will be called the Disney/ABC Studios at the Ranch and will be built on 58 acres of the Golden Oak Ranch.

    The Golden Oak Ranch - which Disney has owned since the late 1950s - is one of the largest television and movie production ranches left in Southern California. Disney first proposed building the new studios back in 2009.

    Filming Begins in Vancouver for Disney’s Mysterious ‘Tomorrowland’

    While we don't know much about Disney's Tomorrowland - other than it likely has nothing to do with the actual Tomorrowland - we can tell you that filming has started in Vancouver on the mystery/adventure film.

    The film stars two-time Academy Award winner George Clooney (Syriana), along with Hugh Laurie (House), Britt Robertson (Under The Dome), Raffey Cassidy (Snow White and the Huntsman), and Thomas Roberston (The Switch).

    Venus Williams and Andy Roddick Set to Headline Mylan WTT Smash Hits Charity Tennis Event at Walt Disney World Resort

    Two former number-one-in-the-world ranked tennis players - Venus Williams and Andy Roddick - will be headlining a charity night of tennis at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex this fall.

    The event is the Mylan WTT Smash Hits presented by GEICO and it's co-hosted by Sir Elton John and Billie Jean King. This year's event is planned for Sunday, November 1 at the HP Field House and it locally hosted by Robert and Tricia Earl.

    Marquee for Princess Fairytale Hall Unveiled at Magic Kingdom

    This fall, Disney's princesses will have a brand new magical location where they can meet and greet their loyal subjects.

    Recently, Disney Imagineers added the marquee to the front of Fairytale Hall, marking a milestone in the re-imagining of the location.

    Jennifer Hudson Stars as Princess Tiana in Latest Disney Dream Portraits by Annie Lebovitz

    We've all seen the stunning Disney Dream Portraits by Annie Lebovitz before, including photos featuring Taylor Swift as Rapunzel, Queen Latifah as Ursula, and Russell Brand as Captain Hook.

    And now, the latest star to be transformed is Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson who recently became Disney's Princess Tiana from The Princess and The Frog.

    The image featuring Hudson as Tiana is titled "Where you follow your heart" will be featured in upcoming issues of Vanity Fair, O " The Oprah Magazine, and People.
