    Wi-Fi Now Available at the Magic Kingdom

    Back in March, Walt Disney World made high-speed wireless internet service available to those staying within its resorts. Now, Disney has taken the first step in making access to free wi-fi a reality within its parks: guests can now connect to the internet sans wires in the Magic Kingdom.

    Disney Dream Portraits Coming to a Magazine Near You

    Disney Dream Portraits are back and will grace pages of certain magazines this fall. These two photos, which feature celebrities taking on various Disney roles and personas, are a first look at the newest round of Dream Portraits by photographer Annie Leibovitz.

    Never Land Pirate Band Coming to Downtown Disney Next Week

    I know "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" is technically a kids show . . . but there could be some grownup fans lurking out there. If you're one of them, this bit o' news is for you.

    The Never Land Pirate Band (a.k.a. the two humans in the otherwise animated show) will be playing at Downtown Disney starting August 3. Folks heading out to catch the band will probably hear songs from the show, including "Roll Up the Map" and "Talk Like a Pirate." Fans can catch Sharkey and Bones on the Downtown Disney Waterside Stage at 2 PM, 3 PM and 5 PM.

    New Sorcerers Trading Card Game Coming Next Month

    Guests who love Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, a Walt Disney World role-playing game, will love this news: Disney has plans to release a trading card game based on the popular in-park experience next month.

    Where To Watch the Olympics at WDW

    Olympic fever is already starting to sweep the country, and we suspect Walt Disney World won't be immune. We recently brought you a post on catching the Olympic opening ceremonies at the Swan and Dolphin resort, and now we bring you a list of where you can catch up with the games in and around Walt Disney World.

    Animal Kingdom's Wild Africa Trek Linked to Illness Outbreak

    A popular guest experience in Disney's Animal Kingdom park is being linked to "several dozen" cases of guest illness. Several guests have reported an abdominal-based sickness after taking part in the Wild Africa Trek tour during June and July.

    Dan Weister, a spokesperson for the Orange County Health Department, said the illness "appears to be some kind of stomach bug." The source of the illness hasn't been found, and Weister says: "It could be food-borne, it could be water-borne, it could be something that's passed on person-to-person, it could be something that's picked up by surface."

    Disney To Sponsor Turtles in Marathon

    Guests at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, a Disney property some two hours from Walt Disney World, will be cheering on two loggerhead sea turtles in the Turtles Migration Marathon. On July 28, Peach and Pearl will make a return to the Atlantic Ocean and join twelve other turtles in the annual "Tours de Turtles: A Sea Migration Marathon."

    Fewer Evening Extra Magic Hours?

    Could there be fewer evening Extra Magic Hours on the horizon? A buzz surrounding Walt Disney World says there could be. Rumor has it the evening Extra Magic Hours will be reduced from three to two starting January 1, 2013.

    Guests staying at Walt Disney World resorts can take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, a time when select parks are open before or after public operating times - usually one hour in the mornings and three hours in the evenings.
