Just heard about the new for-rent cabanas at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Does anyone have more info, or is this something you think you'd ever do? We usually ride the rides and get out, but I can see why relaxing for the day might be nice -- especially if you have your own plush cabana.

Here are the typhoon lagoon ones: http://www.wdwmagic.com/Attractions/Typhoon-Lagoon/News/02Jun2009-Photos-of-the-new-Beachcomber-Shacks-at-Typhoon-Lagoon.htm

And there's a story on Orlando Sentinel about them with more info: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/features_orlando/2009/06/new-way-to-chill-at-disneys-water-parks.html

Do people really spend long enough at the waterparks for that to be worth it?

A lot of people plan to spend the whole day there -- especially with kids. When you figure that lots of kids' favorite thing to do in Disney World is go to the pool, a water park is heaven!

I know I've asked this before, but are the Disney water parks really that much superior to a good water park elsewhere?

IMHO, YES! The water parks are much cleaner than any others I've been in, and they have more attractions that are just simply better. Crush n Gusher is great.

Then again, I haven't been to, say, schlitterbahn, which is supposed to be awesome...
