We went and saw John Carter last night....we LOVED it!

Now I'm even more disappointed that there won't be a sequel because it ended so well to set one up. I honestly don't think they marketed it that well. It was such a great adventure, love story, sci-fi....everything!

I'm going to be traveling soon and I downloaded the books to start reading.

Oh, we decided to make it a double feature since we didn't have our son and saw 21 Jump Street. HILARIOUS!

John Carter had like 7 books... so if Disney wants to make a sequel... they can.

21 Jump Street was hilarious! Hunger Games was great, too!

Yes, there are 11 books! I downloaded the first two to my Nook. I wish they would make a sequel but John Carter just did so bad at the box office...they lost $200 million. Sad

Ehhh.... don't worry too much. Still have Bluray and DVD release. I think it will make up the money then. And I've seen sequels born from much worse openings than that. Wish I could remember some off the top of my head... lol

Haha, you're probably right! I can't think of any of the top of my head but know I've said to myself, why are they making a sequel?!

Don't know if this will help but went to google to find what movie sequels performed better than the original and got a pretty good list: http://flickeringscreen.wordpress.com/2012/02/21/second-times-the-charm-sequels-that-are-better-than-the-original/

But I don't think any one of the originals did poorly at the box office.

Oh... I watched a movie over the weekend. The Three Musketeers. The newest one... it was bad. Fell asleep near the end. When I watch swashbuckling movies... I try to compare them to The Man in the Iron Mask or The Count of Monte Cristo... and this was like those two combined with The Matrix and bad story telling and acting. The King and Queen couldn't had been any more annoying I think....

We just rented the new "Three Musketeers" too.......HORRID! Orlando Bloom needs to go back to playing pirates or elves. Awful! Didn't even watch the whole thing, that's how terrible it was.

I expected a HECK of alot more from him after the Pirate Trilogy! I mean seriously... he should know how to play a bad guy after seeing either Jack in a way... Barbosa... etc... UNLESS this was a Director direction that he want to make Bloom look silly...

And yes.... African Cats is amazing so far

The whole time I kept saying "Is he trying to be Johnny Depp?" I thought that he borrowed WAY too much silliness from Cpt Jack and that it just wasn't working for him.

I can't wait for Brave! I went to see beauty & the beast 3d this weekend (I found this great theater that gets films already out of the other theaters, and the 3d ticket cost me $3!). They had the trailer for Brave playing and I love it already! I love Scottish accents. "woudja?" muchlove

Our own Melissa W is in California right now for a Pixar Brave event! I can't wait to read her story when she gets back! I'm also really looking forward to Brave. I think my girls are going to LOVE the heroine!

I'm right there with ya, Mase! Complete and utter letdown! I'm hoping Orlando redeems himself as he reprises the roll of "Legolas" in the upcoming "Hobbit" movie. Can't wait for that to come out!

We saw "African Cats" at the movie theater. It was awesome! Loved it!!!

Watching Earth right now. Its ok, but I dont like it enough as African Cats. I guess I am wanting to follow more of these animals than what they are showing.

But this morning my son and I went and saw Hunger Games. Didnt know what we were getting into, but I am so glad we saw it. We both loved the movie! Already got the 3 books to read them. Just fantastic.

DW bought Puss N Boots. Hillarious, with the same great adult humor as the Shreak films. Seeing a sequel with this one.

We love Puss and Boots here as well....

I took Brooklin to see Mirror Mirror today...it was cute and funny...did have dark parts though as well....Brooklin loved that Snow White got to sword fight and I loved that they made her able to take care of herself...I had to tell Brooklin that she wasn't allowed to take her sword to the movie theater...LOL
