VoluntEARS from Hong Kong Disneyland continued their hospital outreach efforts by visiting Siu Lam Hospital and Maggie's Cancer Caring Center in Tuen Mun Hospital. The special gatherings with patients and their families included games, treats, and visits from Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
Cruise Line VoluntEARs hosted holiday outreach events in St. Thomas, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. The events included character meets and the distribution of gifts to more than 500 children. The events were co-sponsored by the Ministries of Tourism in the DCL ports of call.
Several Disney Parks worked with Toys for Tots, and at Disneyland Paris the VoluntEARS hosted a special Christmas Eve "Mission Noel" where gifts were wrapped for kids in local communities. In all, more than 40,000 toys, books, and games were collected worldwide by VoluntEARS.
Walt Disney World Resort VoluntEARS worked with The Mission Continues for a veteran's event at the Boys & Girls Club. Attendees were able to work on patriotic arts and crafts and a new flagpole was constructed at the center's entrance.
The volunteer work done by the VoluntEARS is part of Disney's ongoing company-wide Citizenship effort.
