Disney Springs Extends Weekend Hours Starting October 9th, 2020

While I was in Walt Disney World last month the place that I took the most comfort was at Disney Springs. Despite the masks, temperature checks, and social distance guidelines being in place the sprawling shopping, dining, and entertainment complex gave me the greatest feeling of "normalcy." There I found that music played, crowds bustled, and restaurants welcomed guests to (current) capacity.

Should Disney Continue with Stand Alone Hotels?

It was announced last month that The Walt Disney Company has canceled plans to build a 500 room National Harbor resort in Washington, D.C. Disney purchased the 15 acres in May of 2009 for $11 million.

Looking to build a stand-alone Disney branded hotel, they pulled out with Disney spokeswoman Kristin Nolt Wingard stating, "Given the full slate of expansion currently underway at Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, the timing isn't right to proceed with another new project of this scale."

Favorite Time of Year to Visit Walt Disney World

One would think that a Disney fan's favorite time to go to Disney Parks would be the most popular time of year, but that's just not so. The heat and crowds of the popular summer season can almost send even the most dedicated fan into a tither. Many families choose to travel only when their kids are out of school, and this makes for crowds of (sometimes first time) guests struggling to get to their rides in elbow to elbow masses.

Possibilities of Disney's "Next-Gen" Technology

Walt Disney World has just turned 40 years old and they are not stopping. With the upcoming opening of the Art of Animation Resort, a new Fantasyland and the announcement of an Avatar land in the Animal Kingdom, Disney is also pumping a rumored $1 Billion in "Next-Gen" technology.

Downtown Disney's AMC MacGuffins Bar & Lounge

Movie Night on Vacation just got a little nicer with last year's complete overhaul that turned the Downtown Disney AMC Theater into a dine in movie experience. The AMC Fork & Screen is open to guests 18 years of age and older with "with upgraded seats, an extensive menu, full cocktail bar and service at the push of a button." It can still be a family experience as well, but those under age 18 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

5 Photos to Get at Magic Kingdom

Where ever you look in Magic Kingdom people are taking pictures. For some of us not-so-great photographer types that can be a little intimidating. From the pirate themed dinner to the outrageously fun deck party, Disney offers a great romping adventure of song, dance and piratey fun. The grand finale of that spectacular show is the extravagant treat of fireworks at sea. Disney is a pioneer in the Fireworks industry and their patented air launch system is not only quieter, greener, more precise and less dangerous; but allowed fireworks to be displayed in ways never seen before.
