If you're making plans to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in August, there is a new slate of special merchandise events planned. Most of the events are taking place at either Disney Springs or in World Showcase in Epcot.

As work continues on the Frozen Ever After attraction in Epcot's Norway pavilion, Disney has released new details about ride. The flume ride will be housed in the former location of Maelstrom and will use the former ride's Viking ships and water track.

The Studio Backlot Tour at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closing Permanently on September 27

More changes are coming to another long-time attraction at the Walt Disney World Resort.

This time the change is happening at Disney's Hollywood Studios as the Studio Backlot Tour is closing for good on September 27.

Rumors were starting to swirl in recent weeks about the possible closing of the attraction, but Disney confirmed the news last week saying only that the Backlot Tour is closing to make way for new development.
