50 Shades of Grey is being produced by Universal

With Universal Studios making the 50 Shades of Grey movies (http://movies.yahoo.com/news/50-shades-grey-author-e-l-james-why-231728537.html) I am wondering how many woman are waiting for the 50 Shades of Grey theme park to open? laugh

Ummm.... no thanks.

I doubt I'll even go see the movie. I didn't read the books but heard that the writing was absolute rubbish. The movie is due out next year and they haven't even cast it. Such a quick turn around generally means super low budget. They would have to really cast people that I thought were spectacular.

rolling

I would not be one of those women. I haven't read the books either and have no desire to.

I read the first two books. I had no wish to read the third. I love to read and I have absolutely no problem with various flavors of recreational activities among consenting adults. (Bare with me, I'm trying to keep this PG)

Very possibly the worst pieces of junk I have ever read.

Ever.

Anywhere.

Whatsername is written as a spineless sniveling hopelessly naive wimp, Christian is an emotionally stunted jerk and frankly, I found the sexy bits to be pretty bland.

I'm with you. I have not read the books nor do I have any desire to read them. I understand that they are poorly written so the movie can't possibly be worth the price of admission.

I read the free sample to see what all the fuss was about (you get the first couple of chapters free on I-books) It was so poorly written, I had no desire to download the rest. I didn't get to the steamy bits, but had no desire to read more as what I read annoyed me.

I had no interest in the books even before I learned that it's all just Twilight fan fiction with the names and a few other details changed. So I can't imagine I'll be seeing the movie either.

Well that would explain why people say the heroine is so annoying.

THIS. I somehow got talked into reading all 3 by a friend of mine (and once I start a series it's really hard for me to stop, no matter how bad the books. I'm a completionist.) I have no problem with the sexual nature of the books, but man was it just TERRIBLE writing. With the sexual content excluded, it sounds like it was written by a 10 year old. No creativity, bad grammer, a focus on the obvious, and a tendancy to repeat the same descriptions and statements word for word throughout the series. Blegh, bad bad BAD.

I have to say that I enjoyed all three books as did my husband that read them after I was finished. For me to like a book it needs to entertain me and that it did so I can't get down on it too much Smile I may or may not enjoy the movie depending on if they edit the good stuff down to nothing wink
