Another proposal idea!

Obviously my brain has been working overtime on this... I've got another idea!!

We'll be in Epcot on the first day. As we walk through the Leave a Legacy portion near the entrance, I can tell her I want to leave a legacy of our own, and then pop the question. We've talked about doing it early on so we can celebrate for the better part of our stay... is this too early??

I am so nervous and really don't want to screw this up!

You guys are the best for all the great feedback you've provided... thank you!!! awesome biggrin

I think that would be lovely, and being between the rows of pictures would also offer a little privacy if you want it.

I proposed last year. Stayed at AKL. The hardest part of the whole thing was going through airport security. I thought my heart was going to leap out of my chest! lol

I know she's very shy, so a public proposal was completely out of the question, so I just popped the question in the hotel room the MOMENT we got in and put our bags down...totally caught her by surprise and it was a HUGE hit.

So I'm honestly not sure what your girlfriend likes, man...if you think she would like a public proposal, then go for it. Do something classic like in front of the castle, or beside the castle in the rose garden. If not, think of something more private like I did.

Either way...I wish you the best of luck!!! If you need any other tips or anything don't be afraid to ask!

drj898, that's awesome, congrats!! I am definitely nervous about going through airport security with the ring in my carry-on. Any tips or suggestions?

She doesn't really get embarrassed, so I think I can pull off a more "public" proposal. I have gone through so many ideas in my head it has driven me nuts. I know I will do it on the first day, so we can relax and enjoy the rest of our time there and celebrate. I'm just gonna go with the flow and be ready when the time is right. It could be in our room upon arrival like you did, it could be at Epcot... it could even be while we're waiting in line at the Magical Express check-in. Who knows!!

No problem man!

I agree with doing it on the first day. Without a doubt...that way she can have that "post-proposal glow" the whole trip, that all the girls on here talk about awesome lol..no really, that's what they say! And it really does work. We could be at a bus stop for a half hour, miss a FP return, you name it, but with the ring just placed on her finger, suddenly she's like smiling optimism with legs!

Where are you staying, for how long, and when?

As far as going through airport security, what I did...was put the ring, inside its box, inside a sock, wayyy in the bottom of my backpack (carry on of course). We were hanging out looking at the giftshop in the resort waiting for our room to be ready, and I "went to check to see if it's ready yet", and went to the front desk...without her knowing, I took the ring out and slipped it into my cargo short pocket so I'd be all ready when we got into the room. Anddddd...BOOM, done! mickey

Honestly, as far as tips and suggestions, you got it made. Just the fact you're proposing, she'll probably be flipping out completely anyway lol, but you can't go wrong. Don't drive yourself crazy man! Just do what you feel is right, when the moment is right, don't even second think it. You've already given the idea "I want to marry her, I'm going to propose to her" to yourself and decided it's what you really wanna do. That's the big thing. As far as when and where and how...go to Disney with it, and do it on the first day. I just felt that the moment when she turned back to me after looking out the balcony at all the animals (we stayed at AKL) was the right moment for me..I just dropped onto my knee...not even consciously thinking if I should or not lol.

You'll do great! Have fun!!!

Aw!! I love WDW proposals!

Here's another idea... You could take her out to her favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner.. And ask a CM at the restaurant to get involved. At chefs de France Remy comes around and greats the guests.. Maybe you could ask a CM to bring the ring over with Remy? Or if you don't like Chef's de France you could go to any other romantic restaurant (maybe one with a firework view) and ask if they will bring the ring out with dessert, or your first cocktail! I'm sure te CMs would go above and beyond to make the moment extra special for you. Good luck! There is so much you could do at WDW! Make sure you report back and let us know how it goes!

I say go with your heart. Definitely either landing day or day 1 so you can reap the benefits of less stress, lots of smiles and work those just engaged badges too. Another option is to get a photo pass photographer involved in it and get it photographed as you do it? Does she have any favourite characters? Maybe a meet with them too? Disney will help any way they can. Good luck muchlove
