Astro Orbiter - skip it?

I don't remember ever going on this ride, not sure why. I've heard that the lines are very long, you feel like you're going to fall out, and not worth it. Does anyone like this ride or should we just skip it?

I like it, but I definitely wouldn't wait in a long line for it. We went on it as our last ride at the MNSSHP. We got in line about 2 min before 12am (when the party closed) and we still were in line for probably 15 min or so and that was one of the longest waits we had on anything our whole trip!

It's super-low on our list. I don't think we've done it in years. I don't like the lines or que process. Or the seats.

I've always loved it but line gets too long. If you see it with a short line, do it. But line moves so slow/long , not really worth it.

I love the view from up there, but it is a huge motion sickness problem for me. Alas, no more. sad

We didn't do it on our last trip, but probably try to this time. Like others said, the line moves slower than probably any ride. Try the "People Mover" under it, that is one of my favs, a "fun little ride" haha My Grand-daughter got the name wrong and called it the "Pepa Mover", the name stuck, so now it is my ride.

I've heard the lines move really slow and a lot of people don't rate it. I personally think you should try all rides once how else are you going to know if they are fun or not!

I haven't been on that ride in at least 10 years...it just doesn't seem worth it.

I'm a big fan of Dumbo and Magic Carpets, and, even though Astro Orbiter seems to be just a super-taller version of these two, I've never tried it...the height of it kind of wigs me out!

I think that's one of the reasons that I don't do it too.

We love this ride. The views are great and it goes much faster than it looks. Oh and at the end you do feel like you are going to fall out which adds to the excitement. My husband and I have been very lucky to find short lines and hop on right away when we see that. Just like any ride at Disney, if the line is too long we don't ride. My advice is if you see a short line hop on!

I've never done it. The height wouldn't bother me, but the motion sickness issues would.

I rode this once and I'll never do it again. On our 2010 trip we made a list of the stuff we'd nerver done or missed, Astro Orbiter was on that list. The view was great, but being 6ft, mostly legs and having a surgically repaired knee, the 'rocket we torturous to get into and out of. All in all, it's done and ticked off the list.

I loved the view too...I did it once this summer at night to see everything lit up. But once it starts going around, it moves pretty fast and everything becomes a blur. And then there is the sharp drop that my stomach does too. So no more. sad

That's exactly how I feel. It was great until it started moving. It's one of the few WDW rides that made me feel sick.

I love this line, but if you don't hit it early, it usually isn't worth it. May be the slowest moving line at MK due to the elevators. If I want to do it, I usually get a fastpass for Space Mountain when I first get there, and then ride it.

Skip it. We rode it in Oct. It seems very fast and not very fun, the view is great though. I remember wondering how fast it was going and feeling like I was laying on my side (kind of) when going up and down.

Dumbo is better!
