Can it be done?!

My mom's birthday is coming up on May 11, and I've been thinking of possibly taking a surprise whirlwind trip to WDW for 4 days.

I've checked flights--still reasonably priced.
I've checked rooms--still available
I've checked my Silver Pass--not blacked out

sooo... do you think it can be done? I mean.. I'd of course want to go EAT at my fave places. I wont worry about rides and such because she has a bad back and cant get on much. but I'd like her to get to see WDW at least once.

Also, I should tell her about it in advance right?

I say go for it!! If I could ever surprise my mom like that I would do it in a heart beat.. That is awesome!
I say you should tell her in advance, she will have to pack and prepare, but find a really awesome way to tell her and make it special.

Has she been before? I think 4 days actually sounds just about perfect for a trip like that.

I say go for it!

And if you could possibly swing not telling her. I wouldn't... But if you can't... Then I would tell. I think it would be cool if Jess came up to me and said... Your all packed! Lets get on the plane! Where we going and why?!?!? Were going to Disney!!!!!!! Heck yeah!!!!!!

I think I'm gonna do it.. now my question is: which resort?

I've narrowed it down to

Caribbean Beach
Port Orleans Riverside
Port Orleans French Quarter

They're all about the same price so which is better? What I consider important is: ease of getting from room to Bus Stop. I dont really need the pool or the shop soooo.. I just want a place that has a good bus system!

Any faves?

Port Orleans French Quarter. Love the elegance of it all. Its been ages since ive been to any of them so im not sure on ease and use... but elegance is it for POFQ

I would go with French Quarter, too, though my mom LOVES Riverside these days. French Quarter, if I remember correctly, is the first pick up and first drop off for the shared PO buses, so it's very convenient. And it's also smaller than the other two resorts, which means there will be less walking overall for your mom.

I would say FQ too. My Mom hasn't been either but I bet she would love Riverside.

ok guys.. I did it!

I guess I waited ONE day too many and the CM rate room at Port Orleans French Quarter was gone, but I got Riverside.

Booked my flight today... $144 each way! so pretty good for cross country flying 9 days out!

I have a few ADRs I will get to posting them soon.

So uhhh.. one question:
is it possible to do a walk up at 'Ohana? that one is impossible this close to the trip! We're only 2 people.. I mean.. I'll sit in the bar! just bring me the meat!!

I don't know..you could get lucky if you go late or go right at opening. Did you call?? They do have a bar menu but I don't know if they serve meat there...maybe someone will have some experience with this.

I know right??? Yep, I'm in Los Angeles area.

I had decided that I'd let "fate" decide it. If the price was reasonable, I'd go. And $144 each way is pretty damn reasonable!! I just looked on American Airline's website and there it was! I think they were trying to fill the plane because our seats are one behind the other on the way there, and we got the last two together on the way back.
