Strollers...

Okay you all will just have to bear with me over the next few days...as I said in my welcome post...I'm cramming Smile...

I've been debating about strollers and need some input from the pros...

My daughter is 4 going on 5...very soon...but I know that she will get to the point where she will poop out and a stroller will be a huge help. That being said, what way is the best to go?

I know we can rent at the Parks....but I also understand that if we rent at the Parks that we cannot take the stroller out of the Park...

So, what happens, lets' say, if we park hop...for instance, we're planning on spending a good chunk of Sunday morning at Hollywood Studios, but we have a late afternoon brunch in Epcot...will I have to leave the stroller at HS and then rent a new one at Epcot? Or do they give some sort of voucher? Hmmm...

Or, I have read about the Orlando Strollers company that we can rent from, they deliver the stroller to the resort, we can take it with us everywhere, have it at our disposal....how big a pain is that?? Or is it totally worth it?

We bought an umbrella stroller for our daughter. It gets tagged on the airplane and its easy to put it up and down during the transportation in between going to each resort and to the parks. In the end... it will be MUCH cheaper than renting one in Disney.

Tori, I think your best bet is to rent one from an offsite renter so you can have the stroller ALL the time, however if you rent from Disney at one park, you just have to turn in the stroller at the end of your park visit and get a voucher good for the next park you visit (on the same day) then you get a stroller at the next park you enter, depending of course if they have any remaining in their rental area.

Yeah umbrella strollers are a good way to go. They are only about 20 dollars. I just don't know how smooshed she would be in it.

Off-site rental seems like the easiest overall, since you probably won't need it while you're actually traveling.

I would definitely not rent from Disney! Either rent from Orlando Rental Strollers and have them deliver it to your room or buy a cheap Umbrella stroller. You will be happy you have it!

We recommend Magic Strollers around here -- by the same people who do Owner's Locker, so they're very well known Smile

Thanks for all the advice....I think I might just rent off site. I think an umbrella stroller might be bit cramped for her..she is a tall 4 almost 5 year old.

Just to update since we are back. Decided, like the day before we left, to rent a stroller. Two reasons: 1.) My girl is now five, I really didn't want to buy a stroller just for the trip and lug it around on the airplane and 2.) I didn't want to take the chance that the parks wouldn't have strollers to rent when we needed one.

Well, first off -- I almost wasn't able to get one! I tried 4 or 5 different companies before I found one that could rent me one on such short notice -- whew! But I did find one.

And, I am so glad that we rented from an outside company...it turned out that we really needed that stroller both in the parks and in our traveling around between resorts and parks and back to our resort room.

My girl was sick for about the first 1 and half days -- mystery fever, no other symptoms really, just a fever -- but it knocked her out of commission on our arrival day and then our first full day there. The stroller at the resort was invaluable!

Then, when we finally did get to the parks and I saw a WDW stroller in person -- um, ewwwww....they did not look comfortable at all. Hard, molded plastic seats, no reclining option, storage seemed limited....So glad we went with the outside company.

Thank you all for your advice!! mickey
