Captain EO

just read this on touring plans twitter feed

Captain EO closes in 17 days for refurbishment. Cast members I talked to working the attraction say it won't return at all. #Disneyland-- TouringPlans (@TouringPlans) August 26, 2013

any thought on what it might replaced with? will "honey I shrunk the kids" return...maybe something new

The hashtag is disneyland (I didn't even know it was in both parks) but i imagine it might be replaced in both parks if its leaving 1

We haven't seen this, so maybe we'll have to do it just to say we did when we go there next week. Gotta do it at least once, right? wink

We have done it once. No need to do it again. It would be great opportunity for them to slide in an avitar experience to gadge a fan response before building a land we might not love.

Hopefully they will remove it from BOTH parks.

Isn't that going to be the new Miley Cyrus Experience?

I'm declaring myself on the fence about EO. I've seen twice, didn't like it the first time & enjoyed it the second time. Okay, I admit I live under a rock but what the heck is twerking?

It's a new dance move that isn't very attractive to do. Just go on youtube and look it up.

It is not for the faint of heart....Miley quite famously performed it at the vma's

I think it's fair to assume that Miley no longer sets very well with WDE. (my assumption solely.)

I agree she is far removed from her disney past now...definitely not family friendly anymore IMO

I've seen Captain EO twice since it returned, once alone and once with hubby. I got a kick out of it, since I'm old enough to wax nostalgic for the days when Michael Jackson was young and handsome (no disrespect intended to the late Mr. Jackson, but he did not age well and that is an understatement). But I'd be happy to see something new take its place (except Miley Cyrus, ewwww).

http://www.illuminatingepcot.com/epcot-news/breaking-imagination-pavilion-to-close/

this atricle suggests that EO willl leave Disney World as well as Land but not untill after the new year (along with the whole Imagination Pavillion)

I was hoping it might be something else other than EO when I go in December...I never got to see the Honey i Shrunk the Kids movie...ah well (just another reason to plan another trip)

I always end up seeing Captain EO when I'm at Disneyland, just because it's indoors/seated and there's never a line, so it's nice when there's unexpected rain or I need a ten-minute powernap Smile Definitely not something I'm heartbroken to see leaving!
