Of course it depends a lot on where you are travelling from but I usually tend to stick to either Jet Blue or Southwest and last trip I found JB to be even cheaper than SW. But you have to limit your choices to airlines that service your airport. For example JB does not fly out of Manchester so I have to travel to Logan (Boston) to fly them. I am sure others have their favorite airlines that can come close to matching JB & SW fares.
OH! and you have NOT gone overboard on the posting, that is what makes this board tick, people like you and I asking questions and telling what they know and helping each other out.

I've always heard good things about Virgin, although I haven't flown with them. And we use Air Tran quite a lot...tho I believe they're about to unite with Southwest.

No worries about overposting! It's awesome to have lots of good conversation Smile

I gave up on finding cheap flights long ago. These days I just stick with United.

I agree about AirTran and Southwest.. they usually have the best deals and I havne't found any of the discount sites (orbitz, travelocity, hotwire, etc) very helpful... maybe check out vacationstogo.com for last minute tickets...

I've always found the cheapest with Southwest. Download their Ding bar and set preferences! It will let you know when there is a low fare.

Kayak.com is good for doing comparisons.

This is one of the hardest things for me .. since I fly from San Diego. I go with whoever is the cheapest and usually that's a hard find. I would visit a lot more if it were cheaper to fly there!!! mickey
