So, American college football is finally going to a playoff system in 2014. How do you feel about it? Will it take anything away from the history? Or is it long overdue?

My family only cares about Michigan-Ohio, so I don't know if they'll even blink an eye at this.

Honestly... if it stops the complaining... I really don't care. I think something needs to be done, because the BCS system is flawed beyond belief, and if the NFL uses a playoff system, why can't college I guess. But here is the thing... you do the playoff. Who is going to get in? Still going to use the BCS system, so in theory nothing should change. If anything all this helps are the underdog teams, and I'm sorry... underdogs are fun in certain sports... but in football, I just don't care for them. I want those hard fought big title games. So in the end... as long as it stops the complaining... I'm up for anything. The Big Ten is already going to be doing this to a certain extent either this year or next. So why not.

Well, my mother-in-law leans Michigan all the way, while my father-in-law is all about Ohio (which is also where my spouse went to college)! So it's fun times for all.

I agree..I think it will stop some of the complaining but I have already heard people complain that it's only four teams..I guess some people are never happy. I do agree that the BCS is flawed and this isn't going to help that and the lesser conference are going to be screwed either way because they can't get the strength in the regular season. I like to watch the rivalry games and I will still watch the Bowl games regardless of who plays. I just think its fun and its good for the players and it will still help tourism. However, I would like to know where these playoff games are going to be played and is it going to change very year?
What they need to ultimately do is either make a huge playoff system. Not on par as March Madness but 16 or maybe even the top 32. If the fans are wanting a TRUE playoff system with a NATIONAL winner... this is truly the only way. Make the season only 10 games.
Personally... I would rather keep it inner conference. Kinda tired of hearing which conference is better. Its always different every year. I say make the season 12 games, and have an inner conference tournament. Just like basketball does. Having a national champion is nice... but until we go all in with a playoff system... its flawed.
