Disneydoc's last minute split-stay summer trip

Well, I can't believe it, but in one week I will be in WDW! I am staying in the Springs section of Saratoga Springs (if I get my request) so I can be closer to the Carriage House this time. I am kinda feeling the pool, filling up my resort mug (I am now spoiled on these after getting one over Spring Break at AKL), and enjoying a different experience from my past stays there in Congress Park or The Carousel. I also had a fun time in April just taking my resort mug down in the AM, filling it up with coffee, and curling up in a comfy lobby chair or out by the pool to read.

I got a wild hair and made some ADRS! I really want to eat at Raglan Road and see the Irish dancers and musicians, so I made a ressie for arrival night. They have a new salmon salad with lime or citrus or something yummy. Sounds awesome to drive down, check in to SS, and bus or boat on over to DTD. Looking forward to strolling around the new areas and spaces that are open, and walking across the new bridge. I would also like to hit up the new Starbucks over there - it looks so nice. Smile I did make some Fastpasses for Epcot that night but I do not know if I will go over there after dinner, or just hang around DTD and SS.

The first full day I have Fastpasses for MK - 3 of my favorites - Peter Pan (OF COURSE), Haunted Mansion (OF COURSE also!) and Little Mermaid. In there somewhere I have a lunch ressie at - BOG! I took advantage of the order ahead feature and thought I would try the quinoa salad. It looks like my kind of food. But regardless of having less than amazing food the other two times I have gone, I want to give this a try and I do love the atmosphere in there! Then I can either hang around or park hop somewhere else.

I do have Fastpasses selected for the next few days that are subject to change if I decide to make some more ADRs or hit up some favorite quick service places or maybe even try a walk up at a bar/counter of somewhere like Prime Time. Who knows?

Would like to fit TOTWL in there somewhere too for fireworks, but not sure if I will do that this time. Might save that for September when I get to stay at BLT for a few days!

After 4 nights I am moving THE BOARDWALK, pool/garden view for 3 more nights. I am so pumped about that - walking between Epcot and HS is just awesome, and I love all the entertainment in both of those parks! I can catch Mulch Sweat and Shears for every set if I want to! Smile

I somehow think I will end up hanging out in Epcot and HS more than MK this trip but you just never know...I think there will still be Star Wars stuff going on over there, so I may avoid that.

I am bummed that I am just missing the Frozen Summer Fun stuff, AND the cool Sounds of Summer concerts at Epcot, but I am lucky to be going at all given my summer job! I went this time a couple of years ago and the crowds were much lower than later in the summer and the temps were too. We will see!

I love your go with the flow approach awesome when we go in September for two weeks, I'm going to plan the first week then just do whatever the second week ( at least I'm going to try laugh ). We're also staying at Boardwalk for a week ( then switching to Beachclub) so I can't wait to hear what you think of it mickey

Well.... I did call member svcs to change my room request several days ago from Congress Park to The Springs but it still does not show up in MDE that way. So we will see where I end up, but it's all good.

Last time I stayed at SS I had to drive back to check in 2 times (with stuff) to fix MB door issues. Turned out to be a battery thing. Hoping for a smoothe sail this time - gotta get to Raglan Road!

I have had the pleasure of staying at BW before in a standard view - overlooking the check in area drive up. It was actually interesting to sit out in the AM and watch folks coming and going. Cannot wait to see what a pool garden view is like - hoping for some quiet.....Smile

Based on what I read about the Epcot monorail maintence during my stay I may drive to the parks while at SS.

Only 5 more days! yay

Ok, yoo hoo Mr. hub......help!

Off to walk over to DTD after a lazy afternoon at the quiet pool. Got Grandstand this time - had asked for early check in over certain areas, and I love it! Close to exit, not far to main building, our own quiet pool with beverage refill station for my mug....life is gooood.

The crowds are fairly low this week thus far, and the temps are not too bad either! Lower humidity than summer. I think this week might become a tradition...and I now officially love SS. Have not ridden any buses and get to and from the parks a lot faster. Love parking right in front of your resort building!

Star Wars baby! Upside down of course.

This whole event is amazing- fireworks, special shows, celebrities like Warwick Davis (Harry Potter/Prof Flitwick) and Ewock Wicket. Have been able to see it all with only one FP thus far.

Brown Derby tonight so I can stay at HS - my pool view room is already ready but will not go there just yet.. Waiting for a show now.
