Do you have a favorite "Land"?

I spent hours last month in Liberty Square, which is usually just a place I walk through to get to the Haunted Mansion. Honestly, I never realized how much there is to do there. It had never occurred to me that I could spend a whole morning there. Usually it's Adventureland that I linger in. In all honesty I didn't even set foot in Tomorrowland on the last trip.

What is your favorite Land? Is there one you like best? Is there one you can skip? Let me know why too!

Japan for me. Ive always been fascinated with their culture. I use to be huge into Anime, so the shop there was always a stop for me. Now that my son and I have been into Pokemon (Dont knock it till ya try it! LOL)... we are really looking forward to going because I know they have all sorts of stuff.

I totally spaced on this one. When I thought land... I thought Epcot... lol

So land wise... were all over the place to be honest. There is at least one ride per land we like... but if I have to pick... I have to pick Frontier.

I'm a Fantasy Land girl myself! That land out of all of them makes me feel most like a kid again!

I've been skipping Fantasyland the past few trips we've done. I love the atmosphere but none of the rides appealed to the tween/teen boy and I'm sad to say I'm marrying an IASW hater waiting Whatever, dude. Then with the construction walls up, there just wasn't much to draw us back there - till now! I always love being in Adventureland (home to my favorite bathroom. Yes, I have a favorite! laugh ) and Frontierland.

I'd have to pick Adventureland. Pirates, and the Jungle Cruise are two of my favorite rides. I go against Disney's plan when going into the park and I walk to the left and not the right (Tomorrowland). I just love the theming, it always seems less crowded too.

Oddly, at DLR I change it up, sometimes I go left, sometimes I go right.
I know, I'm a wild and crazy girl in California.

Ya know... the more I think about it... each Park we go left... unless I wanna hit ToT early. Always head to Frontierland. Always head towards Star Wars. Always head back to the Animal Trek. The only exception is Epcot where we hit Spaceship Earth first. But then its usually Test Track. So thats kinda weird.

I always head left in MK towards Adventureland because that one is my favorite! I love Jungle Cruise, Pirates, and the Enchanted Tiki Room. Fantasyland would be a close second for the theming, not as much the rides.

In Epcot we go right first for Soarin, Animal Kingdom left for the safari, and Hollywood Studios right for TSM.

It is always temtpting for me to hit up Adventure land first, because that used to be where I always entered first. My was a band director, and one day a year we got out of school to go with his band to Disney. We entered from the back, right next to Pirates, so that is where we began our day. While I went many times as a kid, it probably wasn't till my late teens that I actually entered down main street. So when I am feeling nostolgic, I usually start off with Pirates and Tiki Room.

Kristen, I am curious to hear why you enjoy Liberty Square. While I do enjoy the three attractions there (I count Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, and the River boat),I usually don't spend to much time there. What makes it so much fun for you? Just curious.

I cannot pick a land. There's at least one attraction in each one that I consider a must-do.

When I arrive at MK, I turn right and either ride Buzz Lightyear or get a FastPass. If I've got a FP I then experience Monsters Inc. while waiting; if not I do Monsters after Buzz. Then it's straight back to Fantasyland, FP for Peter Pan, experience other stuff while waiting, as soon as the Peter Pan FP window opens get FP for Winnie the Pooh, ride Peter Pan, maybe get lunch while waiting on the Pooh FP. Then Liberty Square for Haunted Mansion, Hall of Presidents, and the steamboat if there's time. Frontierland, Splash Mountain; Adventureland, Pirates of the Caribbean. Then back to Tomorrowland and around the park all over again to do all the stuff we didn't do on the first lap.

This was actually the first time I hung out in Liberty Square, usually it's Adventureland for me. I usually just walk through Liberty Square without looking at the details. This time it was all about the details for me. I am a history buff and the American revolution is one of my favorite time periods, I was surprised to discover that we actually spent about 4 hours total in Liberty Square throughout the day.

We started our day with Waffles at Sleepy Hollow, then we stopped in the Christmas store. My traveling companion was playing SotMK and on the Liberty Square Quest so we did a couple of those stops. Then we looked at the Liberty Tree, Liberty Bell, and the Flags surrounding it. Each one of these things has a little plaque to read about the history, I took lots of pictures. Next we saw a family on a guided tour and ease-dropped as the child was rummaging around in some bushes and found a note left for him from Peter Pan! After that we strolled into the Hall of Presidents and looked at all of the museum pieces. I was fascinated by George Washington's Beer Mug, but soon it was our turn to watch the show. After we came out I needed to stop back at the Christmas shop and then I noticed a sign saying "Heritage Center" so we went in there. I was a little disappointed to see that it was actually a Jack Skellington themed store with just a little "family crest" look up shop in the corner. Having studied medieval heraldry for several years I really hate those little shops, but I know that many Americans think they're great. Next Erik did another SotMK stop (where he ran into DisneyDee by chance!) and then we took a relaxing Riverboat ride. It was about lunch time when we got off of the Riverboat. We ate (in Froniterland) but then headed right back to do the Haunted Mansion and a little more Liberty Square Shopping. As we were strolling back from Frontierland I made sure to look for the "River" in the park that represents the Mississippi, we found it and laughed at it's tiny size and I commented that it should somehow be marked like the Liberty Tree is. After the Haunted Mansion I saw Princess Tiana before heading to Adventureland. Later that night we returned to Liberty Square for Dinner.

Liberty Square is easy to walk through, and I had done it most of my life without stopping to see the details, read the signs and take pictures. However, it doesn't have to be. If you pay attention and take your time it's a lovely place to spend part of the day.

Love love love Liberty Square!!! Two of my favorite attractions (Haunted Mansion and Hall of Presidents), my favorite MK restaurant (Liberty Tree Tavern), the Christmas Shoppe and just so much history for this history buff to enjoy! Smile

We spend the most time in Fantasyland only because we have a little one. After that, it's probably Adventureland which I just love.

I used to love Tomorrowland, before they took out Alien Encounter, Timekeeper, etc. Now my favourite is Adventureland - we always go to the left too! Then again, I'm left-handed, so I always do things backward. laugh

I really can't choose between Adventure Land and Frontier Land. The Jungle Cruise, Pirates and the Tikki Room in Adventure Land but Thunder, Splash Mountain and Frontier Shooting range these are on my 'do as many times as possible' list.

If I'm by myself I would head directly to Liberty Square but when I am with my friend we head to Adventureland for POC.

Liberty Square gets my vote. I had the most amazing baked sweet potatoe the size of a football at that outdoor market near Hall of Presidents...it was my entire dinner that day. And I LOVE the Christmas store, the Riverboat, the Haunted Mansion, the Hall of Presidents...

I need to start planning my April trip now. Waiting for my DVC to close so I can book!!!

I never even knew the Liberty Square Market existed! I just looked it up on Disney Food Blog. I have been missing out! I love baked potatoes/sweet potatoes! They serve corn-on-the-cob too! I am definitely going there next time I'm in the World. Thanks for the tip!

Kristen - I was also surprised at how much time I could spend in Liberty Square. I think Adventure land is my favourite (nostalgia) but Liberty Square has some great things to look at. And apparently eat - as I totally missed the Market even though I've been there every year for 5 years . . . I am ashamed of myself silly

Adventureland for me! For the same reason I love the Polynesian, there is something so exotic and tranquil about it and suited to the Florida climate. I love the music, the shops, Aloha Isle and love, love, love pirates!

Second place to liberty square for all the reasons mentioned by others. Then Frontierland, then Fantasyland. Tomorrow land has always been my least favourite although I like cosmic Rays and space mountain.

Actually, I think I could sing the praises of all the "lands" in MK. It's funny how my favorite park or favorite section of a park always seems to be the one I'm in at the moment...I no longer listen to myself when I decide I don't like something in Disney until I have reinvestigated it. I am usually just tired, hungry, hot, or something when I decided I did not "like" something.

This is why I love going over and over. It is new every time. I just had a close friend ask me this weekend if I had not "had enough" of Disney now - would I just keep going back every year? Am I not missing out on other things I could do instead? I did what we have discussed previously on this board, I just said "there is so much to do, and I just love it. Yes, I will go back." mickey

It would be Adventureland for me. Our tradition is always Potc and then JC and the Tiki Room. I love the music and just the whole atmosphere.
