As Dreamers Do

Has anyone seen this docudrama based on Uncle Walt's early life? Seems to concentrate a lot on where he grew up and the influences on his later life but stops short of the common history everyone seems to know about.

Nope but I'm interested! Where did you see it?

Is that out already? Last I knew it was in pre-production.

It's been out for a year according to IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3402880/

I've only seen the trailer but it seems to push people to each end of the spectrum, or as they say in the UK, seems to be like Marmite - you'll either love it or hate it!

There was supposed to be a Walt documentary/bio film release this year...I want to say it was going to be September? Maybe it was even a public television or mini series type of thing?? Is this it?

I've seen As Dreamers Do. It's a good movie but the acting isn't the best. It ends before he gets on the train where he creates Mickey. My friend has it which is how I've seen it. This was a few months ago.

Ok, I tried to watch this - I really did. Despite what should be a compelling story of the young years of Walt Disney, it is largely spoiled by the cast and acting. I understand it was an independent production, so the quality of everything may not be the best but I really couldn't break through the quality of acting.

I was so disappointed I couldn't stick with it...usually I can forgive a movie if there is a strong cast with a weak story or a strong story with a middling cast, but not this time.

Seems certain parts were out of sequence too, so we had a grown up Disney going to France during the war instead of an underaged teenager - who also grew the famous moustache to make himself look older at this point.

Apparently there is another larger budget production out there. I hope this will do more justice to the legacy of Walt Disney.
