Fave room in the Haunted Mansion

Okay all you Haunted Mansion fans, what room is your favorite of the ride? I have 3. First, have always loved the "Ballroom" scene. Second the one that always freaked me out as a kid was the "Mysterious Hallway" where all you see is a floating candleabra, doorknobs turning.....Third, the "Stretching Room". Always got me how you were looking at these nice pictures then they start moving and you see the focal point's demise.....

Come on, Mase! I can't wait to read about yours!

My absolute favorite has always been the ballroom scene. I have always been absolutely fascinated by it! I really like the tombstones outside as well. I'm looking forward to seeing the new queue, and taking in all the detail.

I like ALL of it. But I have a personal fondness for the ballroom scene because of its ingeniously simple special effects.

Hmmm... I vote ballroom. So many ghosts, so little time.

OOOhhhhh! Good Topic!!

I also love the ballroom scene. The graveyard seen is great, I love the groundskeeper and his skinny dog right as your entering it. And also the hitchhiking ghosts!

The new queue is great! And you may see other updates too. . . Wink

Note: For those who haven't tried the new queue yet, I was there in September everyone entered through the same line then it split half way up to a graveyard queue line and a regular queue line. Everyone was just standing in the regular line, so a bunch of us further back went up to the graveyard queue and everyone was like "OHhh! There's two lines!!" lol. Silly park guests.

I have to agree with everyone, I have a fondness for the Ballroom scence. Granted.. I am assuming it is the same in WDW as in DLR cause that is the only one I have seen, LoL. I really do love the whole thing though.

I'll keep an eye out for other updates...and thanks for the tip!

My favorite part is actual a transition, and that's the downhill from the attic to the graveyard! I love looking up into the "sky" and seeing the creepy trees hovering over you like they're going to reach in and grab you up! The grounds keeper and his dog are just fantastic.

awesome

For the most part you hit them square on the nose. Those are all great moments. I personally love the busts that look at you. Its such a simple, but yet such a cool effect. But growing up when I was a kid... my absolute FAVORITE moment was which hitchhiker was I going to get. I would just ride the ride to make sure I had taken all 3 home with me. I also love the new crystal ball with it floating and such. But I would have to say my favorite is still which ghost will be coming home with me. Just too much fun!

Couldn't have said it better myself!! That's exactly my favorite part..I love the turning around backwards part as well.

The Hitchhiking ghost would be my second though..I love looking at which one we get!

The ghost riding with me, is what I remember the best. I was 4 at the time. I can't wait to see it all again as a grownup.

Were you scared? I didn't ride the ride until I was a teenager, so it was never anything but campy fun to me. However, my DD6 is not a fan! She's not easily scared, but doesn't want to go on HM again. Thrill rides - no big deal. HM...not so much.

Ok, what a good topic. I think I'm coming in a bit late though. Haunted Mansion is my very favorite ride at Disney. My favorite is, like most, the ghosts in the ballroom. Second would be going in a circle around the crystal ball with the musical instruments floating around.

That transitional part Kristen talked about I was actually stuck in for 15 minutes several years ago! We were horizontal while the ride was temporarily out of order! Probably your dream, right?

Funny thing is, it stopped for about 3-5 minutes this past September and we were only one car away from that transition spot. Those were the only two times I was ever stuck on that ride and in almost the exact same spot. I'm getting used to the little old man with the quivering, wimpering dog!

Yes! I love getting stuck there! It's only happened to me once though.

Am I the only one who enjoys the attic? The ride broke down one night when I was in the attic scene. I liked having the extra time to check out all the props. Love it!

I will be back in the World in 30 days and I cannot wait to check out all the changes at HM, especially the new and improved Hitchhiking Ghosts!

That's great! I haven't been on the ride since all the improvements opened either, so I'm really looking forward to it as well. I think I'll make it a priority for my next trip.

Oh you have too! I think that they've updated it beautifully while still maintaining the integrity of the ride.
