Got my roller coaster fix today

I went to a local amusement park, Lake Compounce, today. It's about 30 minutes from where I live. They were having a special on season passes so I bought one. I just need to go one more time this summer, and the pass is paid for.

I found this video on You Tube of the coaster I went on. I love wooden coasters.

Another one of my favorite rides there is called Haunted Hunt. It's like the Haunted Mansion meets Toy Story Midway Mania. It's a dark ride where you shoot ghosts and score points.

For those of you familiar with Kennywood Park outside of Pittsburgh, Lake Compounce is Kennywood's sister park.

It wasn't Disney but it will do until I'm back in the World in November. Although, I did get a bit of a Disney fix today. The park is by the ESPN studios. Smile

Wow I would love to ride that. There is nothing better than a wooden roller coaster. But I won't be riding coasters anytime soon. I broke my ankle today at my niece's and I will be off work 6-8 weeks. I need to get myself all better before I go to Disney. gaah

NOOO, just today? ARGH! Get that ankle better!

As far as the need for a local fix, we do that too!!!! Just about an hour from us is Lake Winnie, right on the GA / TN border. Some addresses show the park in GA and the offices in Chattanooga, I say just take your pick. It is like a fixed fair. Feels like you are at a fair. They have an entire section for little kids, no adults can ride, with the exception of a few rides where adults are needed. We have to hit Lake Winnie 2 - 3 times a year, just to get us by. I totally understand!

Thanks everyone for your concern. I can't get into see the orthopedic md until tomorrow. So here I sit with my leg elevated and in the most wonderfully attractive gray boot that just goes with everything. Yea right. waiting

You need someone to make you a Grey Goose Slushi to go with the boot!

rolling Absolutely. I would much rather have that than a pain pill cocktail. (I haven't had anything stronger than aspirin though).

Hope the ankle gets better soon, PirateGirl!

Another MN girl? I practically grew up at Valleyfair but haven't been there for a few years now.

That's awesome! I too went there quite a bit as a child but haven't been in a long while. However, my husband and I recently moved from South Mpls to Savage so hopefully we'll visit more often! awesome
