Got some great news the last 24 hours..

Alright so I've learned two things the last 24 hours that have me so much more excited for the next 10-12 months.

1. My first car will be a 1968 Camero! My dad drove it as a kid, and we still have it in our car. We're getting new everything: engine (straight brand new from chevy, just a drop in), transmission, pain job, brakes, upholstery, stereo, the whole 9.9999 yards. I'm so excited for this. While I won't be able to take my car to travel (on highway and stuff like that) because my mom doesn't think it's safe enough and plus, when restored it costs around 30k. But being able to just drive it around the city of Derby and most of Wichita is more than a prilvilege. My grandpa is paying for half of the "restoration" because he loves classic cars and hates to see it in it's current state (dust settled, in my garage, filled with boxes), so I really just can't wait. We plan to have it done well before my birthday in January since we're getting the pre-built, drop-in engine. I don't know a lot about cars, but helping them out (they do know a lot about cars) is going to be a lot of fun.

2. I found out my sister is going to Orlando for a huge gymnastics meet there next June! We're going to a park as a family for one day, going to the meet for one day, and then will visit family in St.Pete for a few days. However instead of going to the actual meet (I hardly ever go, my parents eventually stopped making me go), my parents are letting me go to Disney World by myself for a day!!! I was so sad I wasn't going to be able to go back until the DCP, but now I will be back in less than a year, then DLP in 6 months after that, and then the college program a year after that! I'm so excited! I love Disney. Anyways, wanted a little help with this. First, if I am still on the forums in June (I assume I will be), I might end up meeting with somebody from here! We'll have to see I guess. Few questions, without being TOO expensive, what would you do. I will spend some of my money to have a nice sit down meal, maybe Crystal Palace or Liberty Tree Tavern? Or I could go to a resort for a nice meal., what do you think?

What would you guys do with one day, one park, one nice meal at Disney World? I'm not exactly for leaving the park for a meal, but maybe you can change my mind? I'm very excited! As you can see, I plan to stay at MK for my one day there, with no Park Hopper, as I feel the time transporting from park to park wouldn't be worth it. Also, would you do Universal or WWOHP? Is ther a ticket where you can go to both? Would you recommend it? Thanks so much! I can't wait for this trip to Orlando and St. Pete. We're also doing a trip around the Midwest (Branson, Tulsa, Table Rock in Arkansas, Guthrie OK), so next summer is shaping up to be awesome! February is our cruise (non-Disney). Thanks for all the help! yay yay yay

Congrats on getting the car, I know nothing about cars, but it sounds like it's cool.

Hoorah for an extra stop in Disney! I think that Liberty Tree Tavern would be an awesome meal. When are you going in June?

WWOHP is part of Universal, not it's own park, it's like a "land". I personally would stick with Disney, if I were to go to a second park it would be another Disney Park.

Yahoo! You get to go back ALREADY? You just got home! Lucky Duck!

Congrats on the Camaro...you'll be the envy of the school!

I'm going to agree with Kristen on the staying in the World rather than going to Universal. Maybe it's the mom in me coming out, but it makes me nervous for you to try to get to Universal and back on your own. I know, I know, you're old enough to drive and old enough to cruise the parks by yourself, but still...it makes me nervous. And that's what moms do. Smile

If a) you are planning on going with your family and b) are a huge Harry Potter fan, I would say it's definitely worth a go. It's a REALLY cool land within Islands of Adventure. If a) and b) don't apply, I'd say skip it.

And if it were ME who was going? I'd check out the new "Be Our Guest" restaurant, just because it's new, and I'm sure it's going to be fabulous to look at, and super fun to dine inside the Beast's Castle!!

Congrats and have fun planning ANOTHER TRIP!!!

Ok maybe I was a bit unclear, as always. Lol I get to rambling and what I type doesn't make any sense. So one day, as a family, we will go to Universal/WWOHP. I want to go to Disney that day too, but parents said no Sad since we just got back from Disney. It makes me sad. But on the second day in Orlando, my family will go to the gym meet (somewhere in Orlando) and in the early morning my dad will drop me off at some resort so that I can catch a bus to the MK, that's my plan anyways.

I roamed around WDW by myself a lot last time too. 1. I appreciate everything much more. I like to take everything in. 2. I don't like to do all those kids rides with my two young siblings. I did go through fantasyland with them (because I still love fantasyland) but after that I basically went by myself for most of the time at MK.

So yeah, not going to Universal by my self, but MK. Be Our Guest sounds awesome. I completely forgot about the new fantasyland opening! Score!

On the restauraunt, I really want to go to somewhere kind of quiet-ish. So that rules Crystal Palace out for me. I think Be Our Guest would probably be the best thing there and it is the only one I haven't been to there. (I've been to Royal Table, Crystal, and LTT). While I'm there I'll probably also eat a DOle Whip and a Waffle+Nutella sandwich.. Yummm.

As was kind of said above, WWOHP is in Universal Islands of Adventure. There is also another park, Universal Studios Orlando on the other side of the City Walk (a short walk away from IoA) and like WDW you have to purchase a park hopper type ticket in order to visit both IoA and Universal Orlando on the same day. As for restaurants, my vote would also be for BoG!

I think what I'm going to do for food is waffle sandwich + Dole Whip + Be Our Guest (dinner) + something else little.
