The Holiday Thread

JeffC -- I've been in full-blown Christmas mode around here, even though there are no decorations yet! Is your house already getting festive?

Lizzy -- What a wonderful birthday celebration to go see the Processional! As for restaurants I love citricos, too, but what about Flying Fish -- delicious!!

Well, I'm really looking forward to the holidays this year and wanted to start the festivities early over here on WDWFG!

What are your holiday traditions that you're looking forward to? clapping (We need a bouncy Santa icon!)

Seeing the decorations in all of the parks and resorts, and the Candlelight Processional in Epcot. Awesome! CAN'T WAIT! (We also try and do a special dinner somewhere...hmmm....what will it be this year? Any suggestions?)

Lizzy -- What candlelight narrator will you see this year?

Suggestions for dinner: have you done citricos?

I have an admission: I have already started getting out our Christmas decorations! Day after Halloween - started that tradition 2 years ago. Will save the outside decorations until day after Thanksgiving so the neighborhood does not think I am a weirdo...

The second one is our annual holiday baking spree - we send goodie packages to family and friends, and I am in charge of Quality Control.

The last tradition is cutting down our own Christmas tree. Usually the day after Thanksgiving.

This year, though I am REALLY looking forward to seeing WDW all decked out. I may make that our new annual tradition!

Jeff, I assume the QC involves a lot of taste testing?

I need to look at the updated list to decide, but my birthday is Nov 30, so I'll probably try to go around that time.

And Citricos - no, I haven't been, but I want to after reading more on here about it. I've always been interested in trying it, but for a while, we went to CG and Artist Point every chance we got. Thanks!

(and Jeff - full disclosure - the Christmas CDs came out November 1 here Smile )

Oh my gosh...a food blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it.

I have to join the shameful club..I told Dave on Halloween that I couldn't wait for November 1st because then holiday commercials would start playing.

It is very hard for me to contain myself not to climb up in the attic and pull everything down but I am trying!

Yep! I have everything out of the boxes and am trying to figure out where to put everything. First Christmas in the new house.

I will say, Joe has drawn the line at letting me put up the Santa Mickey inflatable inside the house again.....don't ask. But I do have a picture from last year.

I clearly have issues..... biggrin

I think that would be quite festive! Although, it would scare the heck out of me if he was in a dark room.

LOL, reading the blog comments it's clear I'm not the only one that wants to move in next door to you two. I did have similarly awesome neighbors once, but they didn't crank out the baked goods.

Jeff did the dogs get used to Mickey Santa? Or did the watch him warily for the whole Holiday season?

Yes, snow! I will NOT miss that here in Charlotte - not at all!

The dogs never did get used to it - they eyed it with total skepticism, ready to pounce at any minute. Or run under the bed....

Um, yeah, I'm in heaven now! I love that you made the Swedish ginger snaps -- in my parents house (we live in a VERY Swedish town), they're called pepperkaker! Everything else looks just heavenly, too. So fun that you make the recipe cookies and the non-recipe "cookies!" The rolo pretzels are brilliant!

And I LOVE the inflatable Mickey; the poor puppies! Tell Joe he's no fun if he won't let you christen the new house with it laugh
