It's All For Sharing...

Now everyone that goes to WDW likes to get value for their buck..I do...Especially when it comes to food..So when it comes to a meal that has so much food,I've just gotta share. I love some favourites at Disney..The create your Pasta at PORS was outstanding value along with slices of garlic bread..And some combo's are also great for sharing...So what are your favourite meals for sharing at Disney..?.... awesome

I really like the restaurants that serve family style. I love sharing the breakfast platters at Whispering Canyon Cafe, and Dinner at 'Ohana. Via Napoli is also a great spot for sharing with the Mezzo Metro Piza and Family style salad.

I agree with Disneydi. I'm all about sharing the buffets! LOL!

In all seriousness, I don't think I'll ever finish a whole meal by myself again at Rose & Crown or Les Chefs. We love the taste of the food at both places, but we left these meals so uncomfortably full that I don't even have any desire to go back. On the other hand, we split the spaghetti and meatballs at Tony's Town Square one time and I definitely wanted more when we were finished--not huge portions and it was so delicious. I could easily split a meal at 50's prime time cafe.

Our plan for this trip is to do all counter service (except for Biergarten and 1900 Park Fare), split everything, and just stop and get another "snack" if we're actually hungry later.

I love the idea of sharing meals at table service restaurants in WDW! Saves more room for an app, dessert, and if you're still hungry, snacking around the park when you're done. Me and DH will be doing this a few times on our upcoming trip, so I will let you know what my favorite place for sharing is very soon. Smile

We almost always only eat snacks or counter quick serve at all the parks. It gives us much more time and freedom to roam the parks while we eat. A few of the larger snacks that we love to share are:

1. The Nutella Waffle at Sleepy Hollow. It is plenty big enough for two people to share, it's made fresh when you order, it's loaded w/ strawberries and nutella and it only costs $7. What's not to love?! Also the ham and cheese waffle sandwich is a great lunch or snack too that two people can easily split.
2. Jalapeno and cream cheese pretzels at various kiosks throughout each park. I prefer the jalapeno and my husband likes the sweet cream cheese better, so we get one of each and share.
3. Starring Rolls cupcakes at HS. We also get two different kinds and share. They are all awesome, so it's a
win, win laugh
4.Ooey Gooey Toffee cake at Liberty Tree Tavern. We LOVE this dessert and we get one to share almost everytime we are in MK. We go to LTT only for this dessert! It isn't a huge dessert but it is very rich, so two people can share it.

That's what we always do and we love it. You get more time to walk around the parks,(if you get food that you can eat while you walk) it's far less expensive and you get to try so many different kinds of food.

Our definite snacks on our Christmas trip this year are Pastries from Kringla Bakeri, A frankfurter and pretzel from Sommerfest, and a Dole whip because(*gasp*) neither of us has ever had a dole whip eek This forum has convinced me we need to try one at least once. awesome

Annie, on dole whips, they have them at both Aloha Isle and at Captain Cook's at the Polynesian. We love to get them at Capt. Cook's (where they are "swirl your own" and the amount that you get for $4 is limited only by how patient you are to stand at the very slow soft serve machine and wait for your tasty treat) and sit on the Poly beach for Wishes!, but Aloha Isle has a much more extensive selection. At Capt. Cook's there is only soft serve and it is only available in vanilla or pineapple. At Aloha Isle in Adventureland, they have a pineapple float (Which my husband loves) and orange soft serve (which not being a pineapple fan, i love).

I always find if we get 3 platters at the Tangerine Cafe there's enough food for the 4 of us. That's including my 2 bottomless pits who consider a turkey leg a snack laugh

Sharing is hard for us other than popcorn and DH dishing over his veggies. He doesn't like what I eat I won't eat what he is eating...lol!

The only thing I shared on our trip was my popcorn! Nah, we didn't share meals as far as halfsies, but we did sample each other's selections. We do that everywhere we go.

I am a purist - it's only a "Dole Whip" if it's Pineapple. mickey
I don't know what that other stuff is - I deny its existence fully. wink

laugh I'll keep that in mind.

I tried both of them and liked both. I thought the orange one tasted like a creamsicle.

This is what hubby and I do. We shared an appetizer and an entree at every one of our sit down meals last trip (Kona Cafe, 50's Prime Time, Yak & Yeti, etc.)

Well, considering that I do solo trips, I don't usually share my food. And if I was with someone, I'd be like Joey from Friends in which I don't share food...but unlike Joey, I would comply in a few cases. I'm a firm believer that if you ask nicely and politely, you shall receive and that holds true for food.
